There are no heavy armorer losses in russia. Russia is flattening ukraine. They are currently bombing bases on the ukraine-polish border. Mercenary fighters are telling people not to join and the fight and to go home, that ukraine is giving out "shit ak's" and that "their bodies wont be recovered from the frontlines".
Defenders choice/advantage isn't really discussed here. A hidden & well positioned older tank can take out a newer, unspecting attacking MBT. Training, competence and positioning are more important than latest equipment. A good soldier is a good soldier. Ukraine MBTs may be quite outdated but when defending and concealed you have a huge advantage (if hidden and manage to gain element of surprise).
Worked well for iraq's armor against america. Really with any sky advantage on a battlefield even with hand held drones. There is a far higher chance of being spotted and killed. Right now small drones are picking out camoflagued tanks in the forest. So supior concealibility isnt always the deciding factor anymore. And everything needs tracks in the ground. Follow the tracks to the tank and tada.

The video makes the mistake of assuming a Tank vs Tank war. Makes sense since the strategy has always been that the best tool to take out a tank is a better tank. Turns out that is no longer the case. The best tool to take out a tank is a foot soldier with a shoulder mounted Javelin or NLAW with 60 minutes of training. The Russians have demonstrated that a tank without integrated air support and infantry protection is a sitting duck.
And it seems the Russians realised that. British sniper who served in Ukraine and returned said in a interview that they simply cant use the Javelin and NLAW. Because of the distance of the tank from the ATGM and supporting infantry. But they are still taking out Russian tanks but not in the scale during the earlier part of the war
Yo redeffect, did you see the new Russian BMMP Amphibious Assault Vehicle? May I ask if you're doing a video on it in the future? Also as always, can you update your Iranian tanks video lol
definitely an interesting comparison. the war between russia and ukraine has been going on for more than two weeks. during this time the Russians lost more than 200 tanks, half of which were simply abandoned. what's the point of a good tank if it's driven by an unmotivated and poorly trained crew? just a mountain of iron.
@@Brian-qj4kk Almost 600 Russian tanks have been visually confirmed to be destroyed, knocked out, or abandoned. Potentially, they were wrong on 200 knocked out in the first few weeks, but doubtful, considering the first four weeks seems to be when Russia took the majority of their losses, during the failed offensives at Kyiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Mylokaiv, and their first failed pushes against the entrenched UA forces in the Donbass. There's always the possibility that they lost more during the second failed offensive into the Donbass but it's doubtful, since they had far smaller numbers of tanks in their latest offensive.
It would be helpfull to write the tank name or show a table or smthg coz it was really hard to keep track with all model nimbers and letters then the specs 😅
It might get deployed you can never know for certain. But compared to UA tanks T-14 would still dominate them in tank on tank combat. He should have focused on how well Russian tanks can deal with other Russian tanks because Ukraine has captured more Russian tanks than they've lost so far.

@@AlexanderK9519 Телеграмм. За два года минимум три видео попадалось с подтверждением. Понятно что скорее всего это уже результат работы рембатов на местах, но факт имеет место быть.
It's kinda missing the point, the Ukrainians aren't fighting tank on tank battles, they've opted for an urban setting to take on the Russians, in these circumstances large numbers of tanks aren't particularly useful, they're also extremely vulnerable in this environment. As we've seen its quite easy for the Ukrainians to setup an ambush and destroy an entire column of armoured vehicles just with man portable anti tank weapons. The conflict in Syria should have been a good example for the Russians of what would happen if you try to push tanks through towns and cities when modern anti tank weapons are present.
the point of the video though was a comparison of the tanks, not which side would win in a war. this video is not looking at the bigger picture. i completely agree on all the points you made past "It's kinda missing the point,".
Also, russian logistics is breaking down, thus many tanks are being abandoned by their crews. In fact, not only tanks but all sorts of military equipment.
Considering we have not seen much of the Ukrainian tanks, it makes me wonder if the Ukrainians are saving their armor for counterattacks, or hoping the Russians become overextended and vulnerable to an armoured breakthrough or encirclement.
@@nicholasconder4703 I suspect that they don't really have much in the way of tanks now after the airstrikes, but those that are left will have been deployed in defensive positions, most likely dug in so they're hull down near certain strategic areas. @@N0noy1989 Not surprising.Ukraine stands no chance in an open field battle against Russia. As motivatie as they are their MBT are no match for current Russian tanks. Their T-64B is outclassed by tanks like T72B3 not to talk about T90 or T80. Its smart of them to use hit and run tactics on the Russian forces. Also i dont think the Tanks are obsolete now just because Javelins exist they are still a potent weapon on the battlefield perfect for breakthrough operations. What really stopped the Russian military is their own logistics. An army that has its doctrine based on mass assault is no use when their own logistical line gets stuck tens of kilometres away from the lines from the lack of fuel.
@@N0noy1989 Not weirdly... we know that by far the vast majority of tank kills EVEN IN WW2 resulted from anti-tank weapons. That stats say so, but the little boy in all of us loves tank vs tank lol. So we go on and on about them at length for fun.
Russian tanks no match for Javelins. Hundreds already gone up in flames like Roman candles, turrets blown clear off, etc RIP for all the Russian tank crews inside.
Also worth mentioning. The capability of the equipment is only one factor of the equation. In this conflict it is increasingly looking like Russian equipment is poorly maintained, manned by poorly trained conscripts, and commanded by generals who lack a grasp on good strategy, and are unable to deal with logistics. As Omar Bradley once said, "Amateurs talk about Strategy. Professionals talk about logistics". With stories of T-90's being abandoned after they failed to function in their poorly maintained states, with logistics supply chains unable to properly supply them, and Russian conscripts barely knowing how to use their equipment, I think this comparison is not very useful.
@@taobaoexpert123 Then why are all the Russian POW's saying the same thing? They don't want to be there, and they're barely trained more often than not.
@@taobaoexpert123 those are conscript soldiers that have never had any experience in warfare and were thrown in machine's that have never been serviced in decade's.

16.5Hp/t on T64b is not good.... Or how Brits would say it: enormous and fantastic Hp/t Ratio. (Cr2 with Megatron barely scratches 16Hp/t from below, Cr3 will be more like 15.5Hp/t)
That is partially because we tend to design more for torque than raw top speed. A good top speed certainly has advantages, but it's pretty rare that a tank either can or wants to go that fast for any extended period of time. Being able to more quickly outrun your logistic tail and support units is not the massive advantage that it may appear on paper
You’re making a quantitative assessment of this war The wildcard is the qualitative assessment. The Ukrainians seem to be better soldiers that are motivated. They seem to have better command and control. But that is not the subject of your video.

@@seductive_Octopus i doubt it would block shaped charge munitions, these are soft flaps. What I've heard is that it is to hide the empty spot inbetween the tracks, so the tank is harder to detect. Otherwise there is too much contrast between the ground and the tracks in a nice rectangular hole.

Wow, this really made my day, my week, my month. Perfect subject and perfect timing.

I'll tell you a "little secret", in order to disable the tank, it is not necessary to pierce its armor. After one high-explosive projectile, the tank loses all its optics and becomes incapable of combat. + on the side, all modern tanks are poorly protected. Therefore, everything will depend on the tactical situation. In addition, tank duels are more of an exception than a normal situation.
There will be minimal tank to tank engagements if it happens. Its mostly artillery/ATGM fight there.

But they are still taking out Russian tanks but not in the scale during the earlier part of the war

definitely an interesting comparison. the war between russia and ukraine has been going on for more than two weeks. during this time the Russians lost more than 200 tanks, half of which were simply abandoned. what's the point of a good tank if it's driven by an unmotivated and poorly trained crew? just a mountain of iron.

*Great video! Thanks for sharing!*
Well that explains why I haven't seen footage of tank battles since the beginning of the invasion or idk, maybe none yet

Or how Brits would say it: enormous and fantastic Hp/t Ratio.
(Cr2 with Megatron barely scratches 16Hp/t from below, Cr3 will be more like 15.5Hp/t)
