What are your favorite tips for painting white flowers? Some things I like to keep in mind are: 🎨 Identify and paint around “true white” areas. 🎨 Avoid gray, use real colors and add subtle transitions in temperature. 🎨 Add a background to make the white flower pop! More useful tips and techniques in the video. Enjoy!
This delicate watercolor painting ... Reflects the carefulness and savy vision of an exquisite talented teacher! It requires real inspiration to miraculously pull to a 3-D reality realm a white item ,on a white paper ! A skillful superior technique to paint white on white , so masterful explain with such a simple way to understand! I am so grateful Ana !
I like the contrast of a pretty technical narration while creating a work of art. As usual, the myriad colors used to portray a mostly white flower creates an amazing result. Very nice.
Thank you as always for your kind comments - white subjects are one of my favourite to paint {flowers, shells etc} because its always so much fun to look for colors in the shadows 🧡
that paper does wonder. you make such a thorough tutorials that it doesn't look so hard doing so! takes practice and good quality materials. the only issue I have is sketching the flower itself lol
Me ha motivado muchísimo repasar tus vídeos después de una crisis con las acuarelas. Amo este medio y tus consejos e ilustraciones son verdaderamente útiles y bellísimas. Gracias❤
Painting the background seems to make all of the other colors pop, and really does a nice job of framing the subject. Thank you for the video. It was really instructive.
This was amazingly beautiful yet again, I'm always in awe of the delicate transitions of colours you achieve ❤️. It's what makes your style so wonderfully appealing. Thank you for sharing all of your tips with us, it's very helpful and inspiring. Stunning 😍
Very helpful! I played this over several times to absorb the process. Learned a lot. You are an excellent teacher, giving lots of detail & specific demos. Thank you ! I appreciate it.
You should have many more views! Even if one paints other subjects more loosely there is a lot here to learn or be inspired by. I hope it helps if there are more comments.
Thank you for such a helpful tutorial! I appreciate your tips on not using grey as a shadow color & your technique on blending out a color with another color instead of just using water.
Beautiful piece and lots of good tips. A word of advice to anyone trying this, don’t trace the color map parts. The flower is very complicated already and if you draw in the color mapped parts the lines make no sense. Keep the flower drawing simple and it comes out better.
I am obsessed with painting white subjects and not using grays! It is boring and it doesn’t really reflect reality. Exactly like you said there’s the other subjects that influence in the shadows colors. Light bounces back to the subject and the shadows that you paint are what makes watercolor a special medium! Amazing work
Great explanations of why you do certain things. Such a great tutorial, as always! I was wondering if you have tried the new Collection papers by Hannamuele and if you like them, or not?
This is so beautiful and instructive! I only wish you would show the finished painting. The end of the video shows it nearly finished, but the suggested "watch next" tile covers much of the left side. Is there another place where we can see the whole painting?
Thank you Brooke! 💜 I never posted the full version on insta because it was in a landscape format but I just did a longer scrolling video and also posted a static image there (on insta) 😊 it’s also on my PATREON with outlines. Have a great day!

The most important for me is identifying and painting around the "true white". This tip will help me to improve.

White subjects are very difficult to paint and keep clean. And your suggestions are really helpful

Thank you Sharon - I should have been more clear - the “map” is definitely not for tracing 😊 rather for reference 💜🙏
Greatful, thank you very much!
