Even as a Sony fan, I dont think they will. They won't sell well. Most Indians have a mentality that they'll buy only iPhones if they're spending above 50K. Even Samsung is standing because of their A series and M,F series.

@@aokigaharasenpai6795 You are an exception. Checkout Samsung's smartphone distribution in India. S23 series contribute less than 5% of their total share. Majority sales are from A14, A04, A34 etc.. Sony just makes 3 phones. And 2 of them are proper flagships.

Absolutely, Sony mobiles were the best in terms of design and also in terms of features, my initial two smartphones were Xperia. I would gladly ditch my current device for Xperia again
Plus the idea that those bezels are actually symmetrical in size, as opposed to try-hard full-screen devices with obtrusive punch-hole cameras, while the chin is noticeably larger than the other corners. Those bezels will immediately fade in existence as you are immediately delighted with an unobstructed gorgeous 4K HDR 120Hz OLED display.

Sony needs to improve their computational photography and the "auto" mode to sell it to mass market consumers. I hope they'll launch a consumer phone with thin bezels, headphone jack and a good auto camera.
The problem is our mindset. The Japanese never compromise on quality. Others may provide cheaper phones, but you'll never see a Sony phone with motherboard issues. Sony phones don't come with 63 bloatware and full of ads. Even decade old Xperia smartphones work today without an issue. And quality of components, which don't reflect in spec sheet, costs money. Being a Sony fan, I do really miss their phones and wanted to try the Sony ecosystem. But Sony is acting like Toyota, even though the product is good, it's way overpriced. Sony should return to India with more budget-friendly phones, or at least between 40k to 60k range.
Their 5 V is same price as S23 and 1 V was launched at same price of S23 Ultra and much cheaper than iPhone 15 Pro Max despite giving higher base storage. It will be much more expensive if launched in India because of insane taxes as Sony don't assemble phones in India. But still it's not overpriced if competing devices are priced same or even more expensive.
My Sony Ericsson experience got me nostalgic. I have used the P900, P910 , Walkman and the camera series. But once the iPhone came, mobile market took a different direction and somehow Sony got left behind. This is not only in India. Globally too very few pick mark one V as it is not easy to take a pic in it like you can with a iPhone or Samsung S23U. It has too many controls and professional tools which will confuse and complicate usage experience for the average joe. But their mark series phone had heating issues and camera getting turned off while taking video etc, hope that's fixed with mark v. I would pick it if it's launched in India for sure. Not bcos I might find it fabulous, but complicated cheez to makes me happy 😂

Even though the front facing speakers adds bezels to the phone, that is one feature I really miss in the phones today. Since we use phones mostly nowadays to watch videos and movies, its a wonder why no company wants to keep speakers in the front, atleast for one of their models.

Back in 2013 i bought Sony Xperia tablet Z. It still works flawlessly. Never had any issues with it till date. Even battery is holding up pretty good. And there's still active development support for it on XDA. Everyone in the community just love this Sony product.

My first ever Android phone was the Sony Xperia S! I was absolutely blown away with it's Walkman music quality and it's camera optics! It's a shame they're no longer here. But I do hope they make a come back, because their new phones are spectacular!
Even the Asus Zenfone 10 was a HUGE miss for Indian Android users. It's because of the Zenfone branding having some legal issues here as I have heard. But also somewhere I read, that it could be releasing in India sometime next year? But it would be too late I think.
I had a sony XA 1 which i bought in 2018. I used it for 1.5 years and then I bought a pixel 3A and stopped using it and kept it in my cupboard. After watching this video I went and searched and charged it. and yes it is still working in a perfect condition. I loved sony phones. and I wish they come back to Inida. But in case I travel outside I might get my hands on sony 1V. People always asked me what phone is that. As they do with my pixel 7 and I like that attention 😉. I always stay away from what everyone's talking about or what is popular.
This phone is so good, I am ok with bezels but I love the pro mode. Sony also has xperia 10 mark 5 which is cheaper and also has good in hand feel, but its a shame that its not in India. I am tired of big phones. I would be happy to buy sony phones.
