Seeing this highlights, it reminds of the USWNT game against the S.Korean. They run fast creating schemes for attacking, and relentless. I have to point out that 1-Krugervhas been incredible for the Spirit. 2-Finally, the Spirit is trying to find the other player at front with Rodman and Zarr until we get Hatch back from wherever she's... 3-Lavel is a commodity player, Gotham can use her like in the final game (if they get there), last 10 minutes in a tight game, but never on a grinding game: she'll brake. She fits perfectly in the USWNT because she is surrounded by other talented players who open the space for her to maneuver with the ball and create a moment of magic. Lavel should create space for herself and never grind balls or she'll be in the injured list again. 4- Good shot Rodman, notice how she relaxed before the shot: probably she's just rushing it too much, will see.
Yep. The main issue seems to be in unlearning poor youth soccer form. She used to step into her shots, and now she is learning to actually swing for contact. Ouley and Bethune’s presence is nudging Trin in the right direction and I’m here for it! 😊

Jonathan Giraldez arrived in DC just a few days ago so the plan had been for Adrian Gonzalez to coach the team through this game and then Jona takes over. But Jona probably participated in all the prep/tactics/pre-game strategy sessions with the coaching team before the game. I think he has been pulling the strings behind the scenes for a while now and getting Adrian to implement his vision. The style of play of the team has been slowly evolving throughout the season (more possession, more press, more moving the ball from side to side, better ball control, pass accuracy etc) to more closely resemble the Spanish style.

Alyssa Naeher is not the best answer for that position at the moment. She does have two glaring faults. (a) Modern goalies are a little taller these days. That limitation was exploited against the USWNT during the Gold Cup per my observations. High balls to the sides is a major issue. One or two goals were scored that way during that series. (b) She does appear to be shaken slightly in confidence, most times when an attacker is heading her way, whereby a one on one situation does occur. During the Gold cup also, that was noticeable, which resulted in one or two unwarranted collisions at the edge of the eighteen yards line. Furthermore, height advantage is also required of goalies these days during corner kicks, and aerial balls. Most times the goalies do need to step away from the goal line to reach for, catch, parry, deflect such balls. The confidence to go out of the goal line to do so, plus the height limits can be a hindrance sometimes. So, in my humble opinion, Kingsbury, and Murphy that are both taller, are a shade better in those areas. Please watching the game between the Chicago Red Stars and North Carolina Courage would show these mentioned areas where Alyssa did not perform well. It was not her best day, and i actually felt bad for her. One goal, was scored against her from well outside of the eighteen yards box, and on another occasion that resulted in a goal, she came out then retreated into the goal which did not prevent the goal. As my consolation for her, I do believe that she is one of the very best penalty takers on the entire team.
If you pause at @1:40 you'll see she is onside when the ball is played to her. But in real time it definitely was tricky and looked possibly off-side because of the defender moving the opposite direction.

According to the commentators that is an automatic yellow card no questions asked, that is the rule. So very unfair because she didn’t do anything wrong, there was just confusion, but that’s the rule. Apparently.
She wasn't offside, though. On/off side is determined by the position of the receiving player when the ball leaves the foot of the passing player. If you look at the moment Sarr passes the ball, Bethune is clearly on side.
