I’ve been watching you for a while buddy. And I admire your attitude to work and knowledge. Love your enthusiasm and passion towards the trade. You’ll go far young man 🤝 I’d be a nervous wreck starting up myself with large projects. It’d be 2am and I’d be wondering if I ordered enough materials etc so many thoughts racing through my head 😅
Brilliant mate, I’ve been running my own business since October 23 and found out that every day is a school day on improving and growth. Will definitely be taking some of your working practices shown in this video, I have always given my quotations with a breakdown as even with my wholesale price and markup it is still cheaper than the RRP online which if someone was going to look up then they would see that. I felt that helped with winning jobs as I didn’t have a known reputation at the start, now that I have multiple online reviews and a good name I think I may change to just a price. Been a big fan since I was in my second year of my apprenticeship in 2020/21.
Ive been watching since the armoureds in the ex "farm". good to see this mate, (I'm not a spark btw, my dad was hence the interest) really good video especially showing the design docs and the software used, really useful for someone who wants to follow the same route.
Good thing you have going here mate and you’re only gonna get more and more work after, you’re in your element using all of that knowledge and skills you’ve learnt over the years you’re only going to get better from here on out mate 👍🏻
Really insightful to see this side of the business mate. As an apprentice it’s great to learn how things work first hand with complete clarity. Really excited to see the future of Residual Electrical Contractors, I’m sure you’ll go far mate.
Cheers from Canada!Good going mate, I’ve been following you for some years now you’ve come a long way watching you go in your own is giving me some insight on how it would be for me to do the same, 🎉 keep up the solid work man you have a bright future ahead of you
Mate this is golden, just became fully qualified this week so looking to start building my company and there's so much to learn. Keep it going, notification bell has been set
Watched this video twice 😂 love your all your content man 👌🏼 the business related stuff is quite interesting and great to see how other people run their business 👍🏼 All the best 😎
Great video mate. Mark up on Labour and materials is essential imo as you’ll have overheads to pay for and those unexpected over runs. Having a good wholesaler rep in your corner who you have a good relationship with to help you out on prices when needed as well as support you on jobs that are timescales/margin tight as one incorrect/late delivery can really screw you
Because I've been watching a while, I'm sure you know this but you need to mention some of the other costs; van running costs, fuel, accommodation maybe even food and tool replacement. Each will hit your profitability and therefore justify your markup for parts and labour. Great video and nice clean job!
Strut cutter looks a beast 🤟 if it was around the £1000 mark I’d jump on it but think they’re taking the piss with the current price. Milwaukee must have bought or contracted a 3rd party company to make it which is why it’s so insanely priced 😂
@@SME_Ste probably 😂 think strutslayr might actually be marginally cheaper…. Milwaukee £2600 for the bare tool + £350 for the dies + £138 for 2x batteries and charger +£500 for the nice vice table so £3.5k will have to start financing tools at this rate
@@whatthedeuse didnt check the price but thats some serious dough. 12 months ago a cordless bandsaw was the latest thing that was supposed be the mutts when chopping loads of strut.
Nice video The containment times look about right , however the second fix for the sockets seems a bit tight the sockets fine but you have all the swa’s to gland off some look tight upto the ceiling and dress in ,stainless ties upside down . Allow yourself a bit more time with the testing and the design
Hi, subscribed to your channel as I’ve got a family member starting out as a sparks and wanted him to see your work. I’m an electrical Engineer for over 25 years so know the game. Well done to you for setting up on your own. If you have any Technical questions please post or ask as I’m sure people like me or others who watch can help. Good luck with it!
When theres more than one person working, its useful to take a percentage off the time you think it would take rather than the 1 person 10 days model, something like 60/70%, so 2 people 6/7 days. As theres usually a point where you clash and productively slows.
Love the work mate, if you ever need any support or extra manning (hopefully you do it means you are winning great jobs) let me know. I am a commercial electrical engineer and any extra work is always a winner!
Unless it was specified by the customer to use uni strut, would pre made 6” tray brackets not have been a quicker option for the install of the tray? Decent vid, enjoyed the last one on setup of your business.
Will that work for stainless unistrut. All we use at my work is stainless everything. That would be an awesome tool cause my apprentice sucks at cutting struts. Ends up being damn tomato stakes
I'll let customers supply materials, but I have a highly modified, labor only warranty if they're supplying anything that I don't approve of. I lay it all out up front. I understand a customer wanting to save some money where they can, but I won't be beholden to anything if they're wanting to use awful materials or products.
Of course you need to make a profit on materials. You don't walk into Currys and expect to buy a washing machine for the same money that they paid for it.
Wieland do a system now using a Busbar cable you can tap off to run about 20-30 Car chargers off one system…would save stack loads of time not having to install all the wiring containment including unistrut and cable tray…nice work though
no one is doing business related stuff like this. more please.
Artisan had a few videos up in the business side
Why would they? It's a competitors industry. He knows the guy he's doing it for lol that's 90% of the getting the contract done and dusted.
This is by far the happiest that notification bell has made me 👌⚡️
Thanks man, it’s good to be back!
Amazing stuff ❤
Thanks!
All sounds good to me mate.
You're a lot calmer than I would be lol Id be rushing for the first few days then when the majority is done i relax 😮

😂 current gen are absolutely fried and molly coddled like no other. Literally spoon fed every last bit of info and advice on a plate
Sounds a reasonable way of pricing and covering yourself. Your internal documentation packs look excellent!

Great video can’t Waite to see the progress on the job
Fascinating - thank you for sharing and with so much detail
Rigid make a strut slayer , handheld so much more handy/useable on sites. Goes through uni like butter
Great video bro, loved it ❤️

It's called non productive supervision and you allow for the in your pre lims.
on and up bro, quality uk sparky

Nice vid again! Don't really like the font on the scope of work though.
You are going places when doing jobs like this for sure
Great video mate 👌

Good work 👍 anything in London is min £300 a man I prob would have gone nyy as its all on tray and rcbo’s keep on keeping on 🤞

Good point , they should do

👍👍👍👍👍 looking good
👌
Why do you guys put the trays upside down? :D
BG Specials £10 a pop those outdoor sockets 😂
They work tho 😂 been fitting them years; its usually the installers not the products
Well done, I’m pleased for you.
£2699 from CEF
I guess that pays for the 10 k tool in intro
