This does not go far enough the customization of shapes. I would like to know how to add additional text fields so I can pull more data from my sharepoint list, e.g. Name, Title, Department Name, Location. Can you guide me to another video that shows me how to do this?
Hi guys. Thats all nice, but is it possible to create org chart via wizard import from Excel and use custom made shapes? I've been working on one project for a while and can't seem to find solution. Any ideas? And yea, btw, the custom rectangular was sent to back. It just shows that it's not always users fault. Great video thou.
Ugh I need help! When I double click the stencil shape (while under Document Stencil) to edit the look, it just pops up with white space with nothing to edit!
Hi Guys - any help would be appreciated. I have to create an org chart with 178 positions onto 1 A3 page. I have managed to do so by importing my excel sheet, however it is really small and you can barely read it when printed. is it because its too many positions? is there a way to enlarge all the shapes at once without making the chart going ALL over the place? not sure how to go about it and NO one seems to know also nothing on youtube.
Hello, is the excel data import still works if I create my own shape from scratch? And is it possible if we are able to change the picture shape from the template org chart shape?
I'm unable to add new objects to the master shape. When I save and try to add the stencil back in I get "action will sever link to master" & "Organization charts shapes cannot be included in a group shape"
I was hoping to see how to create a custom visual style (ie add to the list of built-in ones like Belt, Pip, Shapetacular, etc.), but that might not be possible I suppose.
Hi there, I just wanted to ask, the excel data is converted as an org chart in the visio....is there a way that we can just update the data in excel and in the visio, it automatically updates everything ? Need urgent response please Thank You for your time and consideration, Hope to hear from you soon.
@@sean1857 I have another question regarding about the excel file.....when I upload my excel file into visio...the visio warns me that my excel file have duplicates of data...which some of my department have vacancies in their position...and the visio just delete the duplicates without my permission....so when the org chart has been form, some vacant positions have already been deleted...Thank You for your time and consideration...Hope to hear from you soon.
How about doing something more complex than changing the background color; something that you might want to deal in the real world as opposed to the simplistic demo world.
Hi Stephen! I've actually had three separate clients who only used the background color changes. That helps differentiate between business units, which is typically what they're looking for. Anything else you want to do, just right-click the shape in the stencil at left, and edit the master. You can go nuts on the shape.

Hi Neil! Data Tab is missing in your Main Tab. How to enable it?

I was also hoping to see that.

Yes you can use excel data and get it imported to Visio.

"Simplistic demo world" is how you teach something new. Especially if you aren't sure of the skill level of the audience.
