Try a skeleton. Id love to see the art direction you'd go with it!
I think an animated waterfall would be an incredible sprite to make a video out of
I agree
Isn't that the exact thing he struggled with in MWG?
Personally, I think a mimic would be fun!
Man I'm loving all these uploads every couple days!
Me too.
Would really love it if this turned into a series. Watching you explain your pixel art creation process is fun.
Wow, Sir Vimlark your way of teaching is simple and deep at the same time! I'd like to see next a little biting skull XD
good job vim try making A Goblin next
I'd love to see items and power ups as an animated pack!
Hey! I just want to say that your video on how to get into game making has gotten me into it and have already spent tons of time in it! I don't know if you've blessed me with this or cursed me with spending hours at the computer lol
Listen I'm a game dev and if you ask me, it's a curse and bless
You're giving so much to the community!
Incredible! I think that for the next update, you could add a bunch of ancient greek / roman stuff. Perhaps statues of deities and people, or those giant white pillars. Maybe a person in a tradition greek toga thing.
Could you pls make a dumbo octopus? Its cute and it fits underwater levels good.
Any cephalopod would be great, but dumbo octopi are really distinctive.
@@timothymclean what means distinctive.
@@yvesdado3928 Basically means that it would stand out, be unique
@@beezel226 thx
I would LOVE to see more of this project! Maybe next a scepter or staff or magicish sword?
PLEASE DO MORE OF THESE
This video really helps people understand the process of pixel art, whilst being entertaining, I love watching your workflow, thank you (:
You’re content is the freaking best, huge props for putting out art packs for free, I love the video for slowly building a bigger art pack over time!
I think it is kind of relaxing to watch you do pixel art, so MORE!
Totally
Awesome video as always, I'm loving this series of videos that are nor just devlogs :)
I think a orc or a dwarf would be a interesting process to watch.
Great work! Looking forward to seeing more characters being made!
Super cute sprite! Definitely feels like a Vimlark style. Can't wait to see more of these sprites you make.
Love your art! Love these style of videos!
Super awesome Vimlark, looking forward to this series
Same!
You talked about this on stream (if you don’t tune into the streams you really should) and I’m super excited to see this as a series and use these :D
Rather than doing something cliche you could make something strange like an avocado as a healing item or a working vending machine
I love the idea of this series! It’s great to see the art side of gamedev. Especially when it’s cute. Love from PixelScythe
Damn your crunching out these videos good job man
Really good information here! Cheers Vimlark!
This is a nice video that I needed right now, perfect for my first pixel art.
just a cloud
but it be a monster or a cute creature
is cute could be used as a normal cloud in a cute game
I love whatever you put out!
Coincidentally, I just started looking at palettes for pixel art and love endesga 32! Amazing palettes.
A simple beast with unique body parts. Be creative with this, add horns or wings or even a tree growing out of it's back if it fits.
Really awesome content. I would personally love to see you attempt some Robotic/Megaman type sprites in your own style to see what that might look like. Looking forward to whatever you decide though.
it was really helpful, thanks
Some kind of cephalopod, maybe? Octopi in particular are great, but anything in that class would be nice.
I like the new series idea!
I would really like to see a Turtle in the next video, because its a kinda often used enemy in Games. I would really like to see how you would pull it off.
I really loved this video and the slime turned out really cute. For the next one you should do a wizard character
hehehe, i like that little animation of guessing the pokemon and it's the 'humble slime'
I admit I won't use any of the assets because I like to make my own art for games but these videos are really fun and entertaining to watch (and I'm learning alot of new things)
So this is what you said on stream and I like it
That's quite the slime and process you have there. I heard Alyeiah Keem as a Patreon but wasn't listed in your list. Hope all is well and the world turns around soon.
Great video do you think you can make an Aseptite Toutorial?
Great video!
Love your content
no way he is uploading frequently, his account must have gotten hacked and whoever hacked it is uploading for him
Make more, I love them!
nice so many vids this week
Very nice upload rate - keep it up :)!
you're amazing!
Babe wake up new Vim Production dropped
Love the vids man! If you would make a player character next time (or any time) that would be sick!
I agree
Looks great man! Would love to see a robot in the pack?
Great idea
Idea for the next character: cyborg slime
eyyy, that’s cool
i think skeletons are a must, a classic character in all media, but for a bit more diferent designs for characters you should do a little ghost or a hamster or even a hamster ghost
A grassy tileset. Thats it. Just a simple tileset that could be used in unison with the slime for a world 1 type area. Maybe some more complicated/specific set pieces, but not much.
What if you tried making a fire throwing lava monster? It's very complicated but it would look really cool
I would love to have more of thes vidos
A simple Paladin or knight character with a large shield would be verrrrry nice
Congrats on your first sponsor
id love to see a basic place holder character with the option of a sword or gun, or just a base person in general
This is not the greatest comment in the world... This is just a tribute (Insert acoustic guitar riffs)
Couldn't remember the greatest comment in the world!
THIS IS A TRIBUTE!
Rocks. Rocks are a little hard, for me at least, but are good fun.
Edit: Or a boss. Dividing a boss sprite to save time is always a fun challenge.
Some sort of collectable. Gems, coins, eggs on toast, whatever, just something like that.
I didn't even know this video existed...
I always like watching your vids man. Maybe you can try to make some sort of steampunk robot!
Wow I love your style and the slime you made i dont know if you want to make a grass and dirt tile but can you pls make it
A Vampire Bat or a Minotaur would be cool to see.
I think something fantasy like would be cool, maybe an elf, or a beastman, maybe adwarf
They look like little cute clay balls
Hey! I dont believe that you linked the asset pack. Could you please share the link?
I challenge you to try a more realistic and dark style, it may not fit with the asset pack so it might have to be for a different project or whatever. But I personally like more detailed darker less saturated art. I think you’d do pretty good at it, I’ve just never seen any of your art look dark besides for the gameboy jam which was low saturation due to the palette. It’d probably be beneficial to you too, I did that art style for a long time when doing pixel art and eventually I tried a dark low saturation palette and it really challenged me. I’d recommend trying it out, maybe on stream?
Great video! Maybe make a midevil tile map to go with the slime?
...I assume you mean "medieval"?
Another Vimlark video ? Is it Christmas ??
Awesome vídeo! Do a Knight next time!
cute little thing^^
You should make an underwater enemy
Nice and creative. Very cool
Is the free version of Construct any good? I love just kinda messing with the engine, which means that walls of code are not my favourite thing to create, but the 50 event limit put me off a bit. How big of a restriction is it? (I know this is a little irrelevant but I'm curious)
its a really big restriction
Cute Gobos or kobolds
Maybe you could try a bat, I’d love to see how you’d animate wings!
u r good at this and i am trying my hardest to be as good as u
Gun, make a gun
how, thwomps , sounds good
try a bunny, those are fun to animate! the slime is so cute
Lovely
You could add these characters to your streams kinda like the monkeys you allready have
i dont really know how to make floors and walls so it would be cool to use what you made in my game, but monsters like skeletons and goblins would also help
(but the monsters i can make myself)
A legendary sword item would be cool! Something like the master sword from zelda, or the falchion from fire emblem!
I have trouble making fire, maybe a torch or brazier?
1:11
JSUT CHRIST
epic slime
Thank you for texture.
I like !
nice ;D
A coin sprite would be useful
Try a dog, it's not a spritesheet you see often but I think it would be great to have a little companion doggo.
2:23 I am the dude who took the time to post the 3rd example there
Making non enemy hazards would be nice, I’ve tried making some before but they always look out of place or lack any feedback
Love the idea, make a skeleton :)
Could you redesign some very old 2D sprites? Shining in the Darkness had scaled up 2D sprites and some of them, like the slimes are completely unreadable. The only way we know that they are slime is because it tells us what we are fighting.
It would be nice to see your interpretation :)
