I decided to restrict it to computers only for the devices. I'm testing to see if I get better engagement that way, since the content I produce you'll need a computer to carry out the tutorials. I can see people searching on their phones as well when they're away from work, but I'm curious how this will work out.

Hi Jason, very glad I came across your vid after search quite sometime on how to grow and increase my views, sub and like. Your teachings/instructions were very easy to understand and follow. In the first few days I gain over 200 views and 2 subs but what I need is more subscribers growth. Prior to the ads I have vids generating between 500= to over 14k views but stuck at only 94 sub. Started out a few years ago as a hobby so I wasn't really dedicated. Now that I have had a big life-style change and can't work anymore I have decided to take this hobby to the next level and have been putting out weekly vid. I am getting ready to run another add, if there anything else you can or would recommend I do differently. Thanks so much!
With your style of content, I strongly recommend going to UA-cam shorts. Reedit your videos to be under 60 seconds and crop them for the shorts format..... Other than that keep at it!

Can I just upload the exact same video as unlisted? or should I edit that video to pretend it's a different video? If I have to edit... how much editing should I do? The good news is you don't have to do this anymore. We ran more experiments and found that you can promote your original videos without harming them organically

As of May 2022 this is the most up to date strategy. They change as we learn from our own experiments. This was providing better results for less which is why it's changed.
Your ads will still run. It's just the budget gets spend quickly. You don't need to increase your budget to keep running the ads. Google just wants you to spend more $$

I tend not to use that option since it's for In-stream ads. If you are just doing content promotions, then sure add videos you think people would like. But if your doing anything with lead generation or sales don't use it
I am really confused when you edit a video that's doing well and re-upload it as listed is the plan to unlist it in the future so it doesn't bring your views average down. Or does it stay listed for ever. Sorry if I am being a bit dim.

Way to cut those view costs down! For the video creative you've got it. Promote videos that are already working well for you as we want to emulate the natural experience of someone finding your content and subscribing. You don't need to add extra CTA's in the video.
If I make an instream ad targeting a competitor channel viewers... will the views from these people help the algorithm to know the audience profile to promote my future organic videos or show them to the users who watched my ad?
They aren't connected like that as far as we are aware. The best way to do this would be to have a in-feed ad and when someone clicks your videos should show up as suggested and if they keep watching, then yes. But they have to watch an organic video AFTER the ad for that to take place
@Jason Whaling I understand and tried that, the problem is that using in-feed ads I can't unselect "youtube search", then 99% of the views come from people other that the channels I want to target 😪

As of now you no longer need to make a second video! We just finished up a 9 month test and found that the views are no longer hurting the organic growth so you can promote your organic videos without issues.

It's a great supplement to channel growth, but not a driver to replace content creation.

Yes, you can run ads to it. Since posting this tutorial we found that it's okay to run ads on organic uploads

It's a different type of targeting all together. The method shown creates interest audiences; keywords simply target content on youtube

Whenever I try this $5 daily budget Google doesn’t run my ads then it tells me it’s because of my limited budget.

Under Networks, search results and UA-cam videos is checked and greyed out. I’d like to only run ads on search results. Why is mine different?
Not sure why it's doing that to you... Double check you've selected 'custom' as your campaign type in the very first step

Oh, it's re-upload as unlisted so that the organic version continues to perform well. It's up to you if you want to make it public in the future.

Start by targeting similar gaming channels with in-feed ads. Then try a campaign using 'Topics' audiences👍
