Greetings from Pontassieve, province of Florence, Italy. I own a Suzuki Jimmy 4x4 with a 1.3 LT m13a gasoline engine from 2001, all original, which I use to travel through fields, forests and mountains on agricultural and forestry roads used by logging companies.
pine sawyer beetle, timberman beetle, also referred as the black pine sawyer. Really enjoy the bit of history about the local you guys are visiting quaint little town there of Leadville, CO. Thanks for Sharing the epic adventure OMG and what was that a carrot cake it looked absolutely Delish...
The sawyer beetle with the big long antenna's is harmless, however, it can bite if handled. No harm will come from it other than it feels like a bee sting.
Don't know if you're still here ,but that's my exact campsite behind you before the holiday weekend. Moved because traditionally in the past, that area is very busy with side by sides and 2 strokes. Maybe not this year, hopefully!👍. Also during summer, very touristy and busy, especially during leadville 500.
Nice! I fav’ed city on a hill. On our way to Montana I think we’ll head through there again and grab some coffee. And yes! The flys were our worst problem. Thermocell didn’t phase them. This time in the truck camper we’ll try camping close to Leadville like you did. Our fifth wheel was a little restrictive at times. She was not too big but for backwoods and quick she was a slob.
It was so good! We went like 3-4 times while we were in the area hahah! I know the flys were aggressive 🫣 there were lots of big spots at the front for bigger campers and you can get to where we were with a bigger rig if you take your time.
Yes! Go on iOverlander and look just west of Leadville. We camped near turquoise lake! Lots of camp spots. I believe we stayed at the one labeled“Turquoise Lake Dispersed Camping” have a great trip!

We are not still there but we were in the area during the Leadville 100 it did get busy but not as bad as we expected thankfully! Have fun!
Looks like a stink bug. Carrot cake looked scrumptious and the scenery was assume. Thanks for taking us along on your journey.
You are probably right! And it was so good! Such a fun time! Thanks for joining us!
That washout where you turned around looked dangerous for your top heavy camper, the truck on its own would have been no problem.
Yes it definitely didn’t look the safest to drive on with a camper of our size! The truck alone would have been a different story!

We are headed to Leadville in a few weeks. Can you tell me where you camped? Thanks.

I keep trying to figure out what's on your antennae??
Hahah! It’s Smokey the bear!❤️
@@OurFulltimeAdventure OMG that's exactly what I thought, but I didn't think it possibly could be! That's amazing.
Hahah yes it’s so cute! But unfortunately the weather got the best of it so now we no longer have it up there lol
Pa cans not pee cans 😂
Hahahaha either way 🤪
