I have 1100, there is no correct fuel combustion, and white smoke comes out at high rpm, and every trip after stopping, I need to clean the spark plugs

Sounds like a carb rebuild to me

Are you going to just try and lap the valves? I really enjoy your videos and am greatfull for them. I’m getting a 87 750 slab side going right now. It was my fathers and has been sitting my whole life (I’m 30). These bikes are getting really rare and so are the parts. But it’s worth the trouble to track down the parts. The bike has 6,000 miles on it so im really hoping the engine is in good health after all these years sitting. Anyways good luck I hope its going smooth for you!

Are you going to remove the head with the engine in the frame or take the engine out to do it? Good to see you have sourced an original airbox, makes the carbs run as Suzuki intended, I'm not a fan of pod filters on CV carbs. God, just looking at the missing carbs is giving me flashbacks to the fight i had getting mine back in 🤣

So question then. My bike is a 87 750 with a stage 3 Dino jet kit and a full yoshimura system. Do you think I should I ditch the pods and source a factory box? Performance isn’t a priority I’m more so after reliability. I just don’t know if trying to find a box and trying to find the factory carb parts is worth it?

@@devin4109 Is it a US spec 750 with the CV carbs, or "Rest of the world" spec, with the VM29SS Flat slides? If, you have the CVs, find a stock airbox, CV's run so much cleaner with it on. CVs by their very design are a bit of a pain with pods, they can be made to work after dyno time with someone who knows what they are doing, but its much less trouble just to put a stock airbox and filter on, stock factory jetting and have it run like it was supposed to with no flat spots or loss of drivability down low that badly set up CVs with pods will cause.

@@uhtred7860 it’s us spec with BST34ss. Im going through the carbs right now. The bike has 6,000 miles on it but it sat for 30 years so I’m praying I get it fired up and any cylinder wall corrosion will sort it’s self out with the rings. The RS flat slides have tons of parts availability it seems but these BST34ss I can’t even find a rebuild kit for. Is there many of these bikes left with less 10k around anymore? I was shocked at the mileage when I dug it out of storage

@@devin4109 The 86-88 1100 uses the same BST34ss carbs, and a site called, cruize and image parts japan has rebuild kits for them. Left a much longer reply but YT must have removed it for god knows what reason.🙄
