Pops on a live would be incredible!! Its hard to beat a good frog bite. Thats been my go-to bait just about every time I've gotten out. Spro Freak and Scum in Bluegill have been my favorites.

First and last time I fished with my Dad was summer 1988 in northern Minnesota in a small John boat. We hooked into some walleye and pike on white curly tail grubs. Wish we could have fished more. I lost him in an auto accident June 14th. 1999, Flag Day. He was a veteran from WWII, Korea and Viet Nam. He spent 32yrs in the navy and retired in 1972.
Good video cool that your dad still gets out and wets a line . That was some funky green water you were fishing. Better wipe down your reels 😧 The frog that lost a weight cut a larger split shot in half . Get some Shoe Goo and its race ready again . Fixed a few Spros Frog like that.
I don't mind trash fishing, helps you become better at figuring out what the fish want. Also forces to try things you wouldn't think of or don't like, like the drop shot.
I watched your video on braided line. based on your recommendations on Kastking Pro in black I bought some on Amazon. Had a great day and Kastking is great. using stanley bull toad in black I caught my first 5 braided line fish on topwater frog. thanks for the tips.

Why is the Kistler KLX frog rod (and many of their others) rated medium fast action? I always thought in a frog rod you wanted fast or extra fast? I have 3 Kistler argon series specific rods all designated for different techniques (weightless worm/fluke, crankbaits and topwater, and spinnerbait series). All 3 of my Kistler rods ended up being identical LMH with moderate fast action.
Debo, I'd love to see a "Dad Talk" series on vintage baits, like the spinnerbait and maybe any Arbogast lures. Maye some tips on discontinued classics like the Skinny Minnie. I come from a long line of anglers- my Grandad and Dad were two of the best guides on our lake but, unfortunately, my Grandad crawled into a bottle when his wife died, and my father followed the "live fast die young" lifestyle, and I lost him when I was 4. It would be nice to hear that "advice tempered with wisdom" vibe; no offence Debo, but that only comes from that much experience.

Lost my whopper plopper and it totally kill my fishing mojo for the day 😭 (I mean how much power do you use when casting toward tree or is there a trick to casting toward tree so you don’t get hung up )

Practice in an open area on land casting to targets(no hooks).just practice.it becomes a "feel" as opposed to some kind of secret👍
