Alternatively download Reshade which offers the ability to use various shaders which I use to configure the gfx enhancements in this fan made trailer, however you'll be required to configure this manually, and have a basic understanding of AO, GI, and SSS to replicate aspects of my "Max Payne remastered in 2021" trailer.

This means Reshade is installed, the errors are normal but you need to hide this Hud overlay by pressing the "home" button.

It's Screen Surface Raytracing, which doesn't include realtime reflections / refractions, it effects how light transmits other colours in a room, for example if Max stand next to a blue light, Max will illuminate blue.

Finally someone who understands art direction. I feel like a lot of graphic enhancement mods fail to understand that realistic isn't always necessarily better and ends up looking out of place. This however appears to be well thought out. Incredible work.
The only thing that needs to be realistic in remakes is the lighting. Textures, models can be the same so it has the same charming as the old game.
It's interesting.. I've seen many channels copying his "remastered" formula just for views.. This guy releases one remaster.. Aces it. And moves onto the next. And they will hold up in years to come.

@@PieroMinayaRojas Where are the limits of what is a remake or only a remaster? upgrading the game engine to a completely next gen one, with amazing lighting, shadowing, and volumetric effects like clouds and fog, sounds a remake to me. And better to not touch models / textures, we have the example on GTA Definitive Edition. I literally had to install the old models for playing it

It´s not the baby cry. It´s the shouting of the guy from the "John Mirror" show on TV that Max is watching, when he is looking for Vinnie Gognitti in the old house that was blown up. He woke up - strapped in an hospital bed - after a bad dream about a pink flamingo saying "The flesh of fallen angels". That´s why he shouted. But you are right - it´s creepy though! ;)

Remedy would be the magic formula! I'm pretty sure Rockstar had a definitive Payne edition ok their 2022 road map up until the gta feedback

@@angelgart это я не знаю ,но инсайдеры слили инфу что в 2022 году нас ждёт ремастер трёх игр , а так как трилогия Гта уже вышла , то Макс Пейн скорее всего и станет ремейком , ведь даже название ремастера уже известно Definitive Edition , даже сам Сэм сообщил что спасибо что поддерживаете Макс Пейн множество лет , ну и подтолкнул фотографиями двух то ли трёх частей , что намекает на ремейк этих игр , точнее ремастер . I love how max's face still looks like a block with a creppy smile
This game is the quintessential vibe for a 1970-1980s seedy new york underworld. It has all the old wood furniture and other fixtures of the 19th century life now going out of style, old 19th century buildings and seedy organized crime characters looking to make a buck of scams and muscle. Finally climaxing with the Aesir corporation level to add a glimpse of modernity and an idea there is even a higher level class of criminals over seeing the early 19th world decaying underneath. Its all just really perfectly done.
Something went different with Max Payne 2 , its doesn't have quite the same vibe. It has a vibe more like the 1990s reconstruction effort where much of the early 19th century has been replaced.
No matter how many games I've played its max payne that i put on the top of my list can't wait for the remake
The way i remember was look like (great graphics), and now it is :D
That is REAL remaster, when you look at the game you remember and you say, yes this is how i remember amazing graphics back in the days and always wanted to play again!

I do have concerns if the remaster is still in the plans.. there's a new software called RTX Remix which allows modders to include realistic lighting, as well as new models to classic games - this may be a spanner in the works!

Cool vid! But I have things i need to say.
The lighting looks like the GTA Trilogy “Remastered” lighting. It’s too bright that it removes the dark atmosphere.
The camera angle looks nice, but it might ruin the platforming parts of the game. If there is a mod that can make the player ADS (aim down sights) with the same ADS camera angle from Max Payne 3, that will be way better. Adding ragdoll would be great too! (and many others)
I hope there will a good remaster in the future, hell, maybe even a remake! This could be the smooth beginning, or it could have a rough end…

I think that it was perfect as it was, because it was probably the greatest representation of "rotting city" so characteristic for early 2000 games. Kingpin Life of Crime, Soldier of Fortune, Deus Ex and some others, tried to show pretty much the same landscape, but Max Payne nailed it. The problem is with more realistic lighting, and even sharper textures it looses it's key quality. Things that these games were missing in terms of graphics, like fidelity of objects, of sharpness of textures, were so fitting for decaying world they were presenting. These (textures, objects) were realistic enough to be clear representations of real life counterparts, but muddy enough to enhance the sense of dread and unreal. Even warping textures from Kingpin really fitted. So as much as I love when someone tries, this time I would say there is just no need for it.
Great perspective Adam , and it's hard to disagree. Whilst modifying Bully, many of the textures (normal maps) were unfinished, possibly due to tight deadlines. So enhancements aside, I felt I made some objective improvements here.
I don't know when you last played Bully, but I find.. often nostalgia has a habit of lying to us.. And I found the game in its original state hard to engage with, because my mental model has adapted to new expectations.
Overall, Im just find it fun to have the ability to modify classic games without spending £50 for a definitive edition release, plus hopefully I can set a baseline to compare to when inevitably.. They release it.
I'll be modifying Kingpin next by the way, swapping the beige with pink to improve engagement, I'll make sure to reference "Adam Lach" for the inspiration!!! (I joke.. I joke) 😉🙏🏽
@@Claimer_YT i guess you said "bully" meaning "max payne" :p Well I've played Max Payne for the very first time in 2021 on my og xbox (hooked to crt tv) - and I was really impressed. Don't get me wrong - I adore work that people like you do, to make games like Max Payne, much better experience for many people. It is in the end just the matter of taste, and even if I prefer original, I can clearly see that your work is really good and you are doing much to preserve the original atmosphere while enhancing graphics. I wish people who "remastered" GTA Trilogy had as much love for original source as you seem to have. Good luck with your projects in the future! :)

Hi I tried installing this mod following the guide you posted. I downloaded the fixitall patch but cant find the 'Reshade' as stated in the first step. Could you help?
