Thats great advice for the T3 T25/Vanagon but what are average condition and very good condition prices like compared to type 2 splits a bay and are the Waterboxers a better engine as opposed to the latter petrol and diesel variants and what to look out for as for coolant leaks and or overheating issues if any many thanks

The price of a sorted T25 is going to be 8-12k. I looked at multiple vans up to 5k about 3 years ago and the all had rust issues. So 5k gets something usable but not great, at least then. I paid 2.3k for mine but has been a lot of work to get half decent and the engine went pop too.
I'm not up to date with Bay and Split prices as are beyond my budget these days so no point watching any longer 😅 I believe a decent solid bay is going to be 15-20k+ and split 25-30k+ at best, but I'm no expert and don't keep a keen eye on prices. More than a T25 that is for sure.
The T25 is like a Mk1 Golf's to VW Bug. It feels more modern and practical than a bay, it's bigger which is good for me as not small, and drives like a fat golf too. Personally I love them, and don't think would swap for an aircooled van now much as I love them, T25 ain't as pretty tho.
I personally think the 1.9 petrol DG/DJ engines are superb. They are very simple to work on, basically an aircooled engine with a water jacket on! 😅. They have enough grunt to move the heavy T25 round without trouble and generally been a good engine for me over the years. The aircooled CU is OK, but very expensive to work on if need to rebuild etc, even the cost of exhausts and exchangers is crazy. I've never had a 1.6 Diesel but most people you talk to say are pretty underpowered and slow. But can't say from first hand experience. I don't think are prone to water leaks? I think the biggest problem with T25 cooling system is just making sure its properly Bled which can be overlooked. I did a videonon how I do that here if helps.. ua-cam.com/video/jD6TEjwTNwE/v-deo.html
Just my opinion, hope that helps 😊👍

    Happy xmas Al.
I did quite fancy a syncro T25 but the prices are out of reach now.

Cheers dude Merry Xmas to you too. 🎅👍. A kitted out off road syncro would be my dream T25 but as you say are well out of most peoles reach now which is a shame. Pretty much the same for many of the aircooled vehicles now too. Oh well we can dream. 😅👍

If you open your glove box you will find everything you need behind a panel in there. The glove box will unhook and drop all the way down if in the way but be careful not to break the hooks off. Thanks for watching 😊👍

@@JamesSmith-ui4mv Just realised if your anywhere but the UK which is right hand drive, your relays would be under steering wheel (I assume) rather in glove box. Soz! 😊👍
