Super Roger Taylor!! Songwriter, drummer, guitarrist, keyboard player, bassman, percussionist and a tiger voice!!!! The drummer of QUEEN!!!!!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
in 1961 as a young boy of 9 I went to my local record shop and bought the original by Sandy Nelson now at 63 I am still playing 52 years later and this tune is the reason
Sandy Nelson is a legend, Roger Taylor legendary drummer giving that piece of music a breeze of his own wisdom, letting others witness that Drums ain't just Bonham.
I can not imagine how FANTASTIC it must have felt to be Roger Taylor, and looking and listening to those thousands of fans clapping along with the music. That is something very few will ever experience.
God love those English audiences... The camera back shots of the crowd were fantastic... to many people sit on their hands these days. The audience can make or break a show, and this crowd just rocks!

jalan jones not a great drummer.. far from it infact.. just happened to be in the right place at the right time and got the chance to stand on the shoulders of giants..
Roger Taylor is one of the, if not THE most musical rock drummers in rock history in my opinion. Sure, there may be more technical drummers who can solo like mad. But this dude makes music with the drum kit. If I could only jam with him once! Note to self, add jamming with Roger Taylor on my bucket list.
Roger auditioned for Genesis....Phil got the job.....don't get me wrong ; Roger is a monster - but Phil was the guy for Genesis . And Roger ? you know the rest ! :)

Good evening, my dear Mr Taylor!!! I hope you're fine! This is just an amazing day 'cause it's your birthday!!!! Well, I really don't know how to give you a present for your Bday, but let me tell you: just one week ago I started playing my new drum kit! I'm in love with drums because of you and of Queen beautiful music, so I decided to play it thinking of you, guy! So, maybe I cannot give you any present, but please believe me, you gave me such a great present, dear! Happy Birthday Roger! Have a nice day with the ones you love and ... fun it!! ;-) Best wishes from Italy Maggie
RIP Sander L. "Sandy" Nelson, amerikanischer Schlagzeuger (83) ;-( Zwischen 1959 und 1964 hatte Sandy neun instrumentale Schlagzeugtitel in den U.S.-Charts, sein Titel bei seinem Label "Imperial Rec." "Let there be drums" erreichte 1962 Platz eins der australischen Single-Charts und Platz 3 in Großbritannien, es gehörte ab 1999 zum Live-Repertoire der Band "Queen" !! ;-(
"I don't want to bore you, cause I really hate long drom solos." LOL, I agree, but this guy is amazing and I wouldn't mind listening to him go on and on :D

Deceptive simplicity in drumming is an artform in itself. It can be baffling when trying to replicate... Sandy Nelson is loved and appreciated by many drummers. .... Sandy made this song his own, and is his own.... But, he lends it out to whomever wants to borrow the keys for the evening. You can see that Roger Taylor truly appreciated this song.. For it was not the style of the time in which he played this.
Probably the most beautiful man that ever walked this earth! I fell in love with with him at like maybe 8-9 years old! Still in love!!! Even better than Ray Cooper. Does anybody remember him???
Roger you have blown me away covering Sandy Nelsons Let There be Drums. That was an outstanding performance I have been mad on drum's all my life Thanks for this version
Roger Taylor at his very best, is it any wonder queen were an excellent group, Brian may John deacon and of course Freddie Mercury if Freddie hadn't passed away queen would pack out Wembley as they did in the 80s
Gene Krupa used to do this number back in the 40s and 50s- I think Buddy Rich as well. with a full orchestra doing the short musical bursts to keep it going. He could've played for another ten minutes for me!

Roger Taylor may have laid back on drums with Queen for most studio tracks because their music was more melody driven, but he was one of the greatest when he let all his talent thunder on drum solos.
where has the time go when you had good & strong rock concerts where they did gituar & drum solo's like brian may, roger taylor & all the other great rock legends
Sandy Nelson was a good friend back in the'70s. Musicians can do covers of whatever. No disrespect to Roger, who is a good drummer, but I'll take Sandy's piece over this one any day.
Roger Taylor, one of the worlds greatest drummers ... still.
Super Roger Taylor!!
Songwriter, drummer,guitarrist,keyboard player,bassman,percussionist and a tiger voice!!!!

I think it is so special and unique how flawlessly the audience at Queen concerts accompany the band..!
Roger: “I don’t want want to bore you, because I really hate long drum solos”
Also Roger: Keep Yourself Alive in the 70’s
Maybe that's where it comes from 😂🙈
Brian and Roger both looked and sounded great. Those two by themselves could have put on a great show.
God love those English audiences... The camera back shots of the crowd were fantastic... to many people sit on their hands these days. The audience can make or break a show, and this crowd just rocks!
One of the all-time greatest drummers and singers in rock and roll!
Roger es enorme. Toca con fuerza y pasión y además canta genial.
I love how the Queen audience has such a great sense of rhythm, clapping along so brilliantly. Love Roger! Brilliant player. Brian too! :D
One man commanded the whole room. He got them clapping together without even asking them to.
one of my favourite drum songs from the 60's. Love this version.

Ray Cooper is a percussionist not a drummer. You may need to Google to find the difference.
I never knew this existed. Just brilliant, nothing more to say!!
he looks older and a little bit puffy but he still has the same expression of his face while playing as ever. love that...
Great through headphones.
What a legend!!!! Love how the audience joined in at the end, very Radio Ga Ga!
that "old guy" as some would say still has it! I'm glad Brian May and Roger Taylor continue the Queen legacy even dough it's not quite the same !
Bloody fantastic!!!
Man, he gets an awesome thundering sound out of his kit! Regards, The '62 Mathew St. Band (1 Man-Full Group Retro)
