  • There aren't any videos of a Lord Nelson Tug in waves, until now!
The boat is a 1985 37' LNVT on Lake Superior between Bayfield,WI and Ontonagon, MI.
The wind was about a 20 knot almost direct headwind.
We were in what the weather service called "2 foot seas". These were anywhere from 1 to about 5 feet actual height.
Later when we got into some 6 foot waves, we actually sped up to 7.3 knots to try to cut through in order to follow the waves less. That actually worked but the spray increased a lot. I will post another short video showing that scenario.
We had many what we call "bell ringers" when the ships bell rings itself!
All in all, the boat did great.
Fun, but after 9 hours we wanted to be done for the day.
Pikku Kala got us there safely!
