  • You Won't Believe How Much This Weighs - Woodturning Video
    Woodturning a chunk of wood into a bowl removes a lot of material. You might be surprised how much wood hits the floor and how much stays in the woodturned bowl! Today I will turn a very thin, super light wood bowl using just my bowl gouge.

    Don’t even need a jam chuck…just close jaws and cloth/carpet/ paper towel between bowl and jaws.

    Very informative video. The amount of shavings on the floor when you are done turning a bowl can be quite surprising - I have even had to stop and clean some of them up before I finish to have a nice place to stand. Looking forward to your next video. Your neighbor up the road ... maybe we can get together for lunch sometime.

    Brilliant as always. I guessed 275 grammes so was off by roughly half. Well done too. Lovely bowl.

    Great video but I get so aggravated when you make it look so easy and I struggle with turning so much….

      Sorry about that. Remember; persistent, patient practice will yield the bowls you imagine creating! Happy Turning!

    What brand of chucks do you use?

  • @avago2day

    Hi Kent, I am unable to make the open flute cuts you do because of my essential tremor, so I tend to do shear scrape cuts instead. Is this okay or is there another way I should look at trying? P.S. Great bowl and loving your tutorials. Jane ❤

      @TurnAWoodBowl  Рік тому +1

      The inside open cuts do require precise movements. If a scraper works for you, keep it up. I'm always a strong propionate of doing what works for you! All the best to you and Happy Turning!
