I love printing piratical prints, I don't like printing ornaments so thank you for bringing these great practical prints to us. Great video, keep up the great work.
For the wine aerator: You should’ve mentioned which filament to use because some are toxic! So please make sure you print with something’s safe before letting it come in contact with something you eat or drink!!
A dummy hub for a road bike on a 12mm thru-axle. It's used to support the chain of a bike when you pop the rear wheel off for cleaning. A proper one is like £20/$30.
lol, a boat. honestly my first thought when I saw the mini tug boat everyone uses to calibrate their printers. people thousands of years ago went out on the ocean in hollowed out logs, and today people go out on the ocean in thin rubber inflated with air. 3d printed boats are totally going to happen
@@Danielo515 Well, pla is food contact safe if its "virgin pla" but the hotend can contain bad/hazardous materials that can transfer onto the printed filament. Here is a good artikle on this subject. formlabs.com/eu/blog/guide-to-food-safe-3d-printing/
Thanks so much! Would you be kind enough to share the exact link for the paint brush holder and the pot please? I love plants and orchids but mine always dies. Thanks once again for sharing!
OMG!! We have been confused by orchids for so many years, this simple statement that 'they grow on trees and want oxygen an light around their roots' is the missing piece of information!! Why don't they print that on the freaking label? Anyhow, all great prints, thanks so much for sharing.
I bought a 3D printer to print nerdy stuff for gaming. What I think I love about it more though is the "I need this exact thing... OK, I'll make it" aspect of it. I've had it for maybe a month, and outside of the nerdy stuff, I've created marker holders that perfectly fit some small white boards we bought (thanks to COVID, we're all at home working and going to school, and having a white board on each door makes it easy to say when we're in meetings and the like). I also created a replacement for a bracket for my desk And finally, I needed something to lift a pot in my garden (which wasn't draining well), so created some brackets that create a triangle that sits under that exact pot (and fit the pieces of wood precisely) None of these are that exciting -- I mean, brackets? -- but just having the power to create the exact something that you need a la minute (well, a few hours) is insane.
Cool prints! Subscribing to hear more about that orchid pot. As a constructive critique I think you should inform folks that PLA is not good safe after being printed. So that wine aerator may begin to harbor bacteria over time.
Interesting...at 2:22 it sounds like your Alexa was woken by you saying Next Up, it also alerted mine. But when I reply that part it doesn't alert her anymore
I want to buy a 3d printer, but to motivate me to buy one I watch these kind of videos, I think I have seen them all, and so far I have seen nothing useful printed that I need, or can't buy cheap, in a better quality then any 3d printer gives me
Thats fair enough, a 3d printer just isn't for you. I also can't justify buying one, but it's a young technology and I enjoy seeing what people are doing with it.
Hi Nila! UA-cam has pretty much everything you need to get started and get through the initial learning curve (maybe I should do a series on this though). As far as the printer goes. Amazon and lots of other stores sell the printers and print material. I can suggest a printer to start though based on budget.
What material do you use when the part has wet applications. I heard PLA degrades with water. One time I make a hollow PLA part and I wanted to clean it under hot water. Water got trapped inside the hollow shell and never dried properly now it always smells like sweat.
I've heard that you shouldn't 3D print objects that would come into contact with food or drink that one can consume. Something to do with plastic leaching chemicals. This is why some say you should not make 3D printed cookie cutters. Will this be safe for wine?
Doesn't alcohol melt plastic? They use it to smooth out 3d prints no? That would suggest that you're adding plastic to your wine and then ingesting it...
I don’t think you should have your wine going through a 3D printed wine aerator because the pla is not sanitized the nozzle isn’t sanitized and the print bed isn’t sanitized
What's it like thinking your opinion is so valid and important that you go in to a 3D printing group on facebook and tell people to stop printing the things they want to? That they should only print functional pieces.
There are a ton of jobs for people that know Javascript (react and node specifically), Java is a good choice as well if you want to get into more backend engineering roles. Once you get decent at one language, it is reasonably easy to pick up another one. Ruby is good to get started as well because the syntax is easier to understand and work with.
People say it's useless but yet they buy little things made out of plastic all the time. And suddenly when you start making products and start a business they'll all change their mind and want to join
I like every video with useful exaamples od 3D printing but the talk about power of community is a little bit weird because the orchidea pot is not published. So Community is good when someone publish something useful but when I made something it is my precious and I dont share.

on the wine aerator, doesn't the 3d prints trap food or liquid particles in the tiny holes?
They do... And no warning about only using food grade pla with a clean printer... Also abs can be toxic...
Yes and more. Do not print this without following food grade 3d printing rules.
