As always Thank You Kevin for sharing your insights. We are very fortunate in this area to have you and a few others that care about people enough to make sure they have the knowledge to keep their bees alive.
This is a great video. I would also add that people should write their business plan before going full time and perhaps as a sideliner. I would add in a SWOT S = strength W = Weakness O = opportunities T = threats
Big fan here! Business, personal development and beekeeping are three of my main passions so really enjoy your videos and get a lot out of them. I'm a hobbyist beekeeper but would like to work on becoming a sideliner and am thinking about focusing on nuc and queen production as I have developed a system that has been working well for me. Would be willing to share what percentage of your nuc sales are to commercial beekeepers versus hobbyists?
I am making the transition to commercial after taking over a retiring commercial beekeeper. Curious on roughly how many hives your operating. Great video, excellent topic
Great video I loved it. Maybe you could touch a little more on sideline beekeeping for a minute or so in the next one. Reason being is I don’t necessarily have the ability to go completely commercial beekeeping. However I do have the land and resources I believe to become a pretty good sideline beekeeper. I’d love to hear more tips and ideas of growth and how to grow from 30-40 to maybe 100.. I want quality bees not necessarily quantity. I just don’t know what steps to make to go from 30+ to say 100.. hope this kinda makes sense. This is exactly the kind of videos I’ve been searching for.
Kevin, great advice. If more people knew these points they would have a much better chance of succeeding. If one only wanted to produce honey , how would you advice them?
Thank you for your advice - you're living my dream brother - see ya next year LOL

Very exciting 👍🏽 I can’t think of any commercial beekeepers that are customers. Some resellers but almost all hobby to sideliner folks

The first question would be to see if their area supports it. In Manitoba the avg production of honey 150lb - here it’s 25lb.
