  • Put my bag down and there were signals everywhere! Three days of metal detecting in a German forest where, during WW2, the German Kriegsmarine, Luftwaffe and Gebirgsjäger (special forces) camped out and left a lot of relics behind. World war II treasures in a German Wood!
    Small time capsules that have been in the soil for so long that are finally unearthed and see daylight for the first time in 75 years.
    The next trip we will be heading for the Battle of Berlin area. if you have seen my other video's, the Berlin area is always good for some great finds. So keep an eye out open for that and in the meantime check out my social media pages to keep up to date on things and the occasional give-away:

    All bombs and ammunition found in the video's are reported to local authorities.
    Once again: Metal Detecting is not illegal in Germany or most other European countries but you have to have permission. Laws regarding metal detecting differ from each country, province, states, districts and even city municipalities. So before you go out detecting, check out the local rules and laws and make sure to get permission from the landowner.
    If you have any questions or remarks regarding metal detecting or the world war II time period, go to my social media pages or watch my other videos.
    Keep the comments clean please! Lame and hateful comments result immediately into instaban for life.

    19:16 I would say that's a backpack frame, a pricier bit of kit, back in the day used mainly by mountaineers/hill walkers, so possibly used to those like the Gebirsjäger? If so that would tie in wonderfully with the Eidelweiss find.
    I'm just assuming, as I'm not as experienced in these matters as you, but i know a thing or two about the history of mountaineering, but what a great find, especially with that backstrap intact.

    So this was another spot in the button Forrest you visited a few videos back? Sorry Mike, your wife had the best ‘ Ooooo’ find of the day with the mountain unit emblem. Better luck next time! 🤣

      Hi Greg! Yes it was the same spot. Where I had to leave the last time, I came back this time. The exact same spot.
      I had so many bleeps left to dig there that I just needed to go back. And good thing I did, because that spot kept on giving.

      Hi Joe, sorry to copy/paste this off another comment I responded to but I have asked my friend (who found out about this place) that but he doesnt know either. There was a training facility nearby and maybe by the end or after the war uniforms were dumped there or soldiers were stripped there. We're not sure about that.

    What was inside the little container? Even if it was just dirt we must know.

    • @IronMikeMetaldetecting
      @IronMikeMetaldetecting  4 роки тому +1

      There was just some white nitrate like stuff in there. By the looks of it the container was film roll container, but it had a little hole at the bottom so moist got in there. So the white stuff was probably a disintegrated film roll.
