      Corso and from day one I can leave him by him his self for up to eight hours he's he's really good in the house and he's never got on my furniture and I never broke her from getting out of furniture he just did it on himself so I never had problems training them to stay in the house by himself the only thing he does is lay there and wait for me to come home he's never messed in the house and I'm really surprised at that

    We were lucky enough to take almost 1 month between me and my partner when we got our corso. We were able to watch her, correct her if she got into things, and she never destroyed anything. She learned gradually to stay alone and never showed any sign of separation anxiety. We had time to socialize her to the maximum. She's now 10 months old and she's a pleasure to live with.

I didn’t any research before I got him. My supervisor at work had a litter and was selling them for 250. I wanted one and that was it.
      Long story short, every other time he’s ran away I’ve contemplated going to look for him 😂.

    Not making a big deal out of leaving or coming home is a big factor in how a dog reacts.

    • @jasoncorey
      @jasoncorey  4 роки тому +25

      Yup makes a huge deal. And now I'm annoyed! I had some footage of my wife coming home and how she acted around him just getting in. Because BRUCE IS PUMPED AF when one of us is gone and comes home. Essentially she totally ignored him and didn't even look his way. Typically when we do that he will go lay down and patiently wait for love and attention.

      Better still - get Jason a "Robin" costume, and Kara a "Batgirl" - Bruce Wayne is already sporting his "Batman" look - if anything, he needs a custom-Canali, so he can pull off the "Bruce Wayne" alter-ego.

    You mentioned breed sixe. True. But then so are Great Danes--HUGE. I used to know when when I was a kid. Gentlest dogs. Mostly...in MY OWN experience. I used to know a GD at my family's cottage. Knew never to uses it's weight on me. Very good temperament. Hence their nick "Gentle giant". We just need to be aware of their size. That they can knock us over by mistake. Totally unintentionally.
    It's always about the owner and the home environment 99% of the time. A bad owner can make a Chihuahua more unstable and aggressive than a Doberman or a Cane or a PitBull...etc.

      We left our corso when he was 7 months with a friend for company when my wife an I was working and he ate their stair, he chewed everything. We got the stair fixed and started putting him in a crate. Also we gave him a small log from our wood pile to munch on. The crate lasted three days until he figured out how to escape. But once he did he stopped chewing our things. We stopped using the crate and now he eats only his toys in a basket we got for him.he makes a mess every day with his toys but he only chews on that these days

Never make over them. put things away do simple tasks then approach them calmly. I had an Irish Wolfhound who would pee a quart when I came in and made over her. 2 weeks later after ignoring her for 5 minutes she'd flop a tail a few times, yawn, stretch and we'd go outside. Simple fix

    How big of a backyard do you need to own a Cane Corso?

      You don't need a massive yard but enough where they can sprint around. Few hundred feet should do.

    Thank you for the reality check, Jason.
    Fact (super early, super late and inconvenient hours training, taking dog out to pee and poop) VERSUS FANTASY (what subbies see on an 8 minute Jason Corey video of Bruce Wayne looking absolutely gorgeous and like the Dark Knight that he is!).

      You hit the nail on the head about how Kara and I feel. Everyone would see Bruce in her vids and want a Bruce Wayne. And we would always say you can't have a Bruce Wayne without a ton of time, dedication and sacrifice. I should do a video strictly on that topic.

    Hey Jason, you talk a lot about "leadership" when it comes to Bruce and you also mentioned discipline, like when he does something wrong. Could you do a video with more specifics around the practice of these concepts? There are a lot of different methods out there and some of them just don't seem right for these kind of dogs.
