I have the same yarn as you but the 4 mm hook makes my first square bigger than you say. To get the square to 3.5” I have to use a 2.5 mm hook, I must be a loose crocheter, Is it important to have the finished square at 3.5”? I love this pattern by the way and very excited to start it! Thank you!

Hi Marion - my square is coming out at 4 inches. Is that okay or should I drop my hook size to get it to 3.5 inches?
Disregard - I changed my hook to 3.5 and the square is now 3.5 inches.
