    Bellinger is gonna cost more. Back in Mvp form and a huge leader for Cubs. Can play 1B CF. Teams may offer less, but Cubs will not trade the top bat for less. Guessing 2 Top 30 prospects, 1 around 10-15. And a ptbnl pending on his stats. Likely a recent pick. Cubs looking for a power 3B

    I find it funny that people keep saying that Ohtani‘s going to the Dodgers when the general manager from the Dodgers saying they have no chance of getting ohtani at the trade deadline, and the owner said yesterday that he’s absolutely not trading ohtani to the Dodgers but people keep posting these videos of ohtani going to the Dodgers, I guess people just don’t pay attention. Ohtani will not be traded to the Dodgers before the trade deadline.

    • @Tu_Padre31

      Owners absolutely make stuff up, deny allegations and rumors, and bait each other through media to get a leg up on the trade market. If the Yankees are said to be a trade candidate, it's so that other teams can up their trade package for ohtani to steal him from a top suitor like the Yankees. If the dodgers state they're not in on him (even after overhauling the team last off season just for ohtani) it's so that other teams don't feel threatened by the dodgers being in the market for ohtani, creating less competition for him, and allowing the dodgers to trade for him with a smaller haul of talent. The Angels lose very little in trading him to LA, besides maybe losing some fans and revenue to LA since they're in the same market. Not similar to how the rockies didn't want to trade arenado to them, because they're in the same division, and that gives a rival you compete for a playoff spot with, the upper hand for years.

    The GM who ignores Ohtani and focuses on strengthening their bullpen and adding a bat or two will succeed. Post-season baseball is a completely different game, but you still gotta make it to there. The only post-season they know in Anaheim is cleaning out their lockers and turning in their parking passes.

      Most teams make a series of moves at the deadline, and no matter how big the biggest fish on the market is, they'll always try to add where needed as well. Ohtani won't be any GMs only focus, unless their literal only need on their team is at DH and a starting pitcher.

    Baltimore is run by an Ex Cub who is close to the Cubs leadership. Hyde played for Cubs, coached for them. He has a close connection still and Baltimore having the prospects it does. I think Cubs and Bal could do a big package for multiple players. Ex. CL Al Leiter Jr, C Gomes, SP Smyly or Stroman, pending what ya want to spend. Hendricks was there with Hyde. He would cost alot, but his leadership in Oct you can't put a price on. Does Baltimore have corner IF Power prospects? Pretty sure Cubs are gonna 🎯 power. They like how Bal develops SP as well.

Donovan has been the center piece rumored around Gilbert. As much as I’d hate to give up Brendan or Gorman, that MIGHT be the best move. Of course there’d be other pieces and if I’m Mozeliak I would want to include enough pieces to get Woo as well. Your choice of Donovan or Gorman, Yepez, DeJong, Burleson, choice of Graceffo or McGreevy, maybe some other change for Gilbert & Woo is what I’d want. Maybe give the Cards a bit of offensive return. You obviously didn’t watch Bellinger play like such dog shit for 3 years he got NON TENDERED by LAD lol. They had him under control and said nah. It’s not health…he was truly awful post 2019 juiced ball.

    • @brandondillman5841
      @brandondillman5841 Рік тому

      Not really. Bellinger doesn't have much power anymore since the shoulder injury. He does play a great outfield defense. He'll definitely go for more than Benny and Merrifield, but not a lot more. Especially when you consider Bellinger's salary.

      @@brandondillman5841 You have't been watching him this year then. He was hurt for about a month so if you're looking at total HR total...you should look at how many HR's per ABs and that would tell you that you are wrong. He also LEFTY power...which is a lot more rare...and he can play 1st in a pinch

    • @brandondillman5841
      @brandondillman5841 Рік тому

      @@joshuaspidel6603 he's a rental, he's expensive and he has a history of injury. He won't go for a lot. Freaking Manny Machado only got 1 top 100 prospect and a handful of low level prospects in return and that top 100 guy was ranked in the 90's. Machado was tearing the league up in 2018 too. If you're a Cubs fan expecting a big return for Bellinger you're going to be very disappointed.

      @joshuaspidel6603 Рік тому

      @@brandondillman5841 I know he's a rental. He's also a rental in a sellers market. There could be other years where Bellinger is a rental but he goes for less simply because there are less buyers or there's alot of options other then Bellinger that could be impactful. I'm saying he's going for a decent amount more then Merrifield and Benetendi. Did I mention Machado?? Lol

    The title needs to be changed from "Jimmy sips his coffee while his two kids are napping which won't last long and in that time he trades players." to "Jimmy trades the Cardinals and throws in 2 trades that make 0 sense because he need to add the Yankees and Shohei to the Dodgers for engagement"
