Michael Chance is one of the best countertenor I've ever heard along with Bejun Metha.
I was not expecting that. Stunning!
This probably took place at The 250th Anniversary, 1992 Dublin Performance
of the Oratorio in Three Acts. Michael Chance (b.1965) was 37 years old. I watched his performance video in 2009 when he was 55 years old. I felt his voice even got better.

What a beautiful rendition. Chance's ornamentations were daring and also tasteful. I love the Emma Kirkby rendition of this piece, but this performance may be just as good.

You're entitled to your opinion. I would agree that some countertenors don't make a nice sound. However others like Michael Chance, Iestyn Davies, James Bowman and all the other Kings Singers' countertenors are quite something to behold, in my opinion😁
