You don't need to feel guilty about liking the older music. First, you are one of many reactors of your generation making similar observations. There was not a lot of technical sound manipulation options back then so true talent was the key. Second, these guys were legends and friends that got together in some jamming sessions and produced some top shelf music. Lastly, I am almost 70 and it does my heart good to see your generation appreciating this music, Thanks!
How many of the Traveling Wilburys are still alive? in the band TRAVELING WILBURYS there are only 2 surviving members. JEFF LYNNE AND BOB DYLAN are the only living members. ROY ORBISON , GEORGE HARRISON AND TOM PETTY have all passed on RIP 😢
I love the reactions, Ace! Your upbeat, happy attitude makes me smile! I'm subject to crying at sad things, things that evoke nostalgia, and excellence, including excellent songs/musical (performances). Although I'm more than twice your age now, Ace, I found myself crying at excellent performances from a very young age. I may have been twelve the first time I found myself crying to an amazing vocal performance of a beautiful song.
Dude, I tear up al the time, just because of how beautiful the music can be!!! I do it with the Wilbury's "End of the Line" all the time, with 5th Dimension's "Aquarius/Let the Sun Shine In", and lots of others.
I guess this is what happens when a group of some of the best muscians got together in a jam session mainly to have a little fun. They surely didn't need the money or fame.
Thanks, Ace - as commented below - the best "super-group" EVAH! hope you listen to some more by them.. it was all about having fun and appreciating each other...it's no wonder to me that you like this stuff.. no "autotune" just pure enjoyment of singing & playing... I appreciate your reactions!

Jim Keltner, the drummer, is not shown here, but he was in the "End of the Line" video.
Friends getting together to make music because they loved it. The fact that they're all music legends is beside the point.
This was a true supergroup. Did you recognise any of them?
Wait till you get older man! I’m 58 and tears come a lot more quickly than they used to!
Probably the best super group and they play like they are old school chums. Really no ego's, and the stories will prove it.
There's no "probably" about it.
I bought this album on cassette in 1988 as soon as it came out. The whole thing is terrific, a great listen.
Because 3 of those gentlemen are no longer with us. They made it to THE END OF THE LINE. R.I.P. Roy,George and, Tom

Now THIS was a supergroup.
You're doing just fine! You listen and give a honest opinion which is what's it's all about.

Roy's photo sitting on the rocking chair in the "End of the Line" video always gets to me 😞
Try Tweeter and the Monkeyman. Great song, but then all their songs are great.
this whole album is on one of my best ever list

Crying from happiness is a rare pleasure.
