Looking for shifting issues with the T56 in my SRT-10 Ram and guess what, first thing that pops up is this video. Could the rebuilder nail down the problem to a single part? Thanks.
It's possible. There are a couple bushings on the shifter shaft that can grab and cause no return to center. If the trans is in good shape, that's all you should need. Mine was pretty rough and needed a couple gears and I had tick performance cryo it while they were in there. Good luck!

@@aaronsrose Thank you! On mine it's not as bad as shown in your video but it likes to stick a tad off center and it does not feel very "defined" which leads to missing the gear... Would you mind making a video showing how the shifter should act with a good transmission?
I don't have the truck any more, but it should spring to center with no drag. And you should be able to move the socket part of the shifter in the transmission with one finger.
Not according to Tick Performance who rebuilt the trans. The shift rod bushings inside the trans tend to seize to the rod and make it not return to center. Thanks!
Great video! Helped a lot.

Would it perhaps be because it’s a longer shifter so you have more leverage therefore less force?

At the end there was the transmission filled completely with oil?
I believe it was. I just poured the oil into the shifter housing before I closed it up. Thanks!
Thanks for sharing!
Took t56 out and reverse seem to be difficult shift. What could be wrong?
Super late to party, but bleed your clutch.
$1600 for shifter bushings? 😯
If you can do it yourself it's cheap, but pro rebuilds of these things are not, in my experience. Thanks!
It's all labor
Its throw out bearing or slave cylinder
