Because of your videos, I decided to go to an estate sale this past weekend! Found an antique small frame of pressed flowers that was made in AUSTRIA! Hung it on the wall by itself, looks so dainty and beautiful!

I’m not a camera person but I know exactly what you mean about loving the equipment. I’m a weaver and love the actual weaving process. But I absolutely adore the equipment - not just the looms but all the shuttles, shed sticks, winders, measuring tools. When you enjoy what you do, you value and appreciate the tools that help you do it.
For your FRAME; to replicate the molding that is already on the frame you can use silicone (think caulk) and corn starch. There are videos on youtube about it. You can make an impression of one of the intact corners of your frame with the silicone and cornstarch mixture and then use that impression as your mold.
Great you've found a new camera and that you are pleased with it! But I think the sound from the previous mic was better
I struggled with the sound for a good portion of the video, it was very tinny. It used to have a deep rich tone. I wear hearing aids and never had a problem in the past. I wondered if a setting needs changed.

I had a tradesman that that did the same thing to me and I begged him to show up too. Well, he showed up and he was drunk! I had to fire him. I found someone else who did a great job but I didn’t get to enjoy my backyard last summer like I hoped! It’s in now and beautiful and I’m enjoying “all the things” in my backyard this year so far!!! It’s such a bummer for you, so sorry
Like someone pointed it earlier, the thing you asked if it was for taper candles is an ikebana vase.
Ikebana is the beautiful traditional japanese art of flower arrangement.
I can hear you so much better with your new camera. You sound much clearer with very high clarity, thank you! I loved that vase of your mom's & "all the things" you purchased at the estate sale. I think the smallest side of the bracket goes against the wall, I have some very similar that came with a shelf & that is how it is made. I hope you find an electrician, it is so frustrating when they ghost you. It makes me wonder how they still have a license & get any work behaving that way!

so tell you that: on mother's day my 2year old fell 19feet out of a building and i have been at the hospital with my miracle boy that didn't die in that freak accident - this video just did the unthinkable and cheered me up a little!

MaCenna, as a old ornate frame collector, there is no written rule on restoring them. Leave the old frames “as is”. They are absolutely beautiful with their flaws and patina. I do paint them but not too often.
Not sure if you have a FB but one of the best things that has been so helpful while living in TX are all the community pages that you can join! There are always recommendations for plumbers, techs, electricians etc!

So that thing at 8:53 is actually an ikebana vase. The sharp little prongs in the hole (aka flower frog) is meant to hold up flowers. They're super pretty once you have a few stems in them for a modern type of look.

For fixing your corner on your frame, you want alginate to make a mold of the opposite (diagonally) corner and then just plain old plaster of Paris. Resin is not what you want, it heats up and when cured (depending on type) it can be more glass like. You want plaster. And I fortunately tradesmen in electrical, plumbing and roofing being no shows is common.
Since you plan so many more houses and likely tile work, consider buying a used tile saw. It will more than pay for itself.
And that little black slab with the frog in the middle is an ikebana vase. You stab the stems making an arrangement.
I feel so bad regarding the electrician. Last time when you said he wasn't showing up/ returning calls I feared he bailed on your job...I only pray for you that he wasn't paid ahead in full🙏
The brass brackets can be used for books on the wall-floating books bracket is what I would use it for. I love this channel! Love seeing mom & Romeo.

We live in the country. Getting tradesmen to come out is like pulling teeth. And they are few and far between so the good ones stay busy which makes things even harder. I’m glad we are done renovating fir now.
@@lizclark9351 Ours was on our first house and we made the mistake of paying before all the work was done because they “promised it would all be done within the month”🙄 Finally almost 10 months later and a threat to take them to small claims court and it got done 🙏
learn from us and NEVER pay for anything until the work is ALL DONE! Atleast we know for next time!

I mean, while she doesn't need to trash him, she should DEFINITELY leave a negative review online. By taking the high road and not saying anything, she's not helping the next person that he's going to scam. Just a polite negative review that he left her high and dry and wouldn't return multiple forms of communication is all she needs to do. No need to go full Karen. If I read that on someone's reviews, I would steer very clear!

Are you, Romeo, and your parents going to take a picture and leave it somewhere for someone to find it in the future? I’ve seen people leave a note or something behind cabinets. I think that would be really cool since you basically recreated this whole house from the studs up.

It’s funny, I put penny tile up in my kitchen and remember you saying you were going to put it in your bathroom. My husband knows I love your videos and I said to him “MaCenna is doing this on basically her entire bathroom and I can’t wait to see if she has as hard as a time as I did!” 😂 The amount of cutting and grouting the penny tile takes is insane. Love how it looks but I’ll never touch it again lol

Tile work is VERY hard on your hands. I was a tile laying assistant years ago. And my hand would be so sore and swollen. Highly suggest wearing protective gloves during cutting, grouting and thin-setting the floor and mixing it all. It'll save your hands quite a bit.

Oh my! I am in the same boat with the electrician! Ive had two that Im assuming were abducted be aliens because they have left the planet. Im on my third now and just hoping for a text back whenever I send one. I also did my living room and kitchen in steam and its gorgeous! It matches so many different colours, shades, and tones. Warm or cool, somehow that colour works. But good luck with your electrician this week! Ill be excited to hear in the next vlog :)

It looks like the wood molding lines up differently at each of the corners so you probably won’t be able to make an impression of another corner to do that but you can make an impression of that feature that’s running into the corner on one of the full parts and then cut it down to fit. Can’t wait to see how it turns out and loving watching the progress.

My husband was gone every 2 weeks for work, so I had to make the most of him being home when he was there. He worked at a gold mine outside of Juneau, Alaska. The item you picked up at 8.54 and asked what it was is called an 'Ikebana' or a Japanese flower frog. You make flower arrangements by sticking the stem through the spike to hold the flower in place :)

I had those red white and blue roller skates! Early 80s! Ugh...I can still remember the smell of the vinyl. So, not-so-funny story, but I had a tradesman ghost me too. Turns out he went back to Mexico to visit family and couldn't get back across. Hoping it's something like that instead of him just being incredibly unprofessional or ending up on the back of a milk carton.
If you wanted to continue using your old camera for anything the Deity V-mic D4 duo is a mini mic similar to the Rode you already have but it has a front and back mic and I think you can toggle between the two with a little switch! That way you wouldn’t have to keep changing the mic orientation lol. Just a suggestion 🙂
With the cables etc. hiding them behind the chimney column is a good idea. .. otherwise, it's like your house is showing her bloomers, and at her age, she's a Lady.

I loved the video, as usual, but the sound wasn’t great. It used to have a much fuller, rich tone. Today it was very tinny. I struggled to get a comfortable listening volume to be truthful. Maybe there’s a setting that can be changed.
