They've sold out Wembley two days in a row (the only non-English speaking act to ever do so), the Rose Bowl two days in a row, 4 shows at SoFi stadium (including the youtube theater next door that live streamed the concert), then 4 shows at Allegiant Stadium along with the theater at the MGM Grand live streaming all 4 shows... and they could have doubled the amount of shows and they would have been sold out as well. :)
I feel like their lyrics are more poetic, as well as deep, than much of other music I hear. And hearing army singing back to them in mass is my favorite thing that I feel lucky to have witnessed in person💜💜💜
The unique-to-us lyrics is partially a cultural difference. When they reference specific flowers, it's sometimes because of meanings in Asian culture. Example: cherry blossoms are cherished in Asian culture as a sign of spring/re-birth. While also being fragile and fleeting. A reminder to appreciate the little beautiful things. I'm a 59 year old grandma and Army since 2017, introduced to BTS by my daughter, I learned so much about self love just by reading their lyrics, even after my 50s I realized that is OK to feel down, that we need to experience sadness to be able to appreciate happiness. I tell people that BTS is "The Thinking Person's Group," because of exactly what you described liking about them. BTS is a "lean in" experience. They require high engagement in order to fully grasp why they are different, and so great. It's unique to them, too, really. The K-pop artists I've listened to otherwise are mostly not engaging me in the same way. I think Bang PD's insistence that they write from their own lives and experiences, combined with RM's high intelligence (and SUGA's social conscience), really drove the direction that the band took from the beginning. And the other members followed their lead and have expanded upon the original concept in an "Avengers" (the whole is better than the sum of its parts) kind of way. It's super interesting to see and experience as a fan. Also, Magic Shop is one of my favorite songs, if not my number 1. I love the concept of it, and I love their harmonies. It's just beautiful. It's my dream to experience it live, in person. "Magic Shop" was inspired by a song by James R. Doty, MD called "Into the Magic Shop." It introduces a psychological technique where, in quick and very basic summary, a person brings whatever issues they have and trades it for positivity - in the "magic shop." So, BTS is saying that when you're down, look into your heart and they will be waiting there to give comfort. SUCH a beautiful message. I like your interpretation, too.

The thing i love about them is the positivity, relatability, and intelligence in their lyrics. They want to change the world into a better place through their lyrics, music, and actions. They tell us to love ourselves because in order to fully love another, and to be a whole & complete person, you need to love yourself 1st. They want to comfort people with their music. Theyre so impactful they were unvited to soeak at the UN about the love yourself campaign. Because they sing about real world issues, mental health etc, they let you know its ok if youre not perfect or if you make mistakes. They say you cant teach an old dog new tricks, but im 51 and theyve changed my life. Theyve helped me get through the toughest moments of my life, the deaths of multiple family members, mental health struggles, and most recently (2 years ago ) the death of my husband. Theyve made me change myself for the better, made me *want* to change, and theyve unspired me to help make the world better. Have opened my mind and made me a more positive person. I will forever support them and be grateful for the impact theyve had on my life. Bts finds you when you need them most. Im sorry youve been struggling too. Hang in there things will get better. 💜
The talent and musicality of BTS drew me in and the depth and multi-layered meanings within their lyrics have kept me captivated with this group. You are so right about the lack of those things in most American pop. Well worth the effort it takes to read the lyrics. I guess I understand what you are trying to say. BTS's lyrics are mostly about positive stuff, beautiful lyrics are written for us ARMY because of they love and gratitude they show towards us, so Magic Shop was written for us by Jungkook. In this era it is very rare to find beautiful lyrics like this and in American culture sort of this beautiful language seems to be disappearing from songs lyrics. And everywhere they sang along. In Brazil, the entire concert the stadium sang every song from start to finish. Yes, the guys not only write beautiful music, sing and dance well. They write amazing, powerful lyrics. Therefore, they are awarded social prizes and invited to a UN meeting as the most influential people in the world. And there they didn’t sing songs, but gave a presentation.

Growing up in the 90's (born in the 80's) I listened to music whose lyrics made sense. At the moment, the artists don't have anything specific to say. The MV's are packed with almost naked girls, alcohol, fast cars and promote a sick lifestyle.
I see on your hat "Girl Dad", so I know you have at least one child. A very good song by BTS is "Love Myself". It helped me a lot and I'm a 75 year old woman. You will find in the group songs a lot of positive lyrics, that especially children need to hear and relate to. If I had them while I was growing up, my life would have been different. And check out some of their Run BTS videos, they will have you laughing and put you in a good mood, and they are G rated.

You give me the best of me = that’s BTS saying, when they were tired or having a hard day, ARMY inspired them to keep going, had positive things to say about the Boys, gave them a purpose or meaning to strive for more. You give you the best of you= you have the ability to give the inspiration, positivity, support and purpose to yourself. Look inside yourself for the answers. To get you on a full journey... I'd recommend starting out with No More Dream, follow that up with Mic Drop, Sea is a hidden track and it is beautiful. Fake Love and Blood Sweat and Tears are amazing. I like Home, Dimple, Pied Piper(BTS admonishing the obsession of the fandom), my mom suggests House of Cards. Louder than Bombs is my favorite but the Persona and MOTS 7 albums are masterpieces. Solo items: Indigo by RM.
