I think is an awesome version. Stop comparing it to the actual Oogie boogie song, they cannot be compared in any way. Take it for what it is, a gorgeous flamenco guitar piece.
@unorthodoxJ No, I don't think so. I saw an interview with him and Danny Elfman where Danny was saying that he wanted Mr. Manson on the album. And yes, of course I could record it, but I meant that I would have really loved to have been on the album. I'm a huge fan of the film and soundtrack.
Just imagine being surrounded by a pack of rowdy monsters (how about werewolves?), and think of Oogie being there too. Don't forget to make him dance like from the movie. Hope it helps! :D
All I have to say is that Rodrigo and Gabriella obviously did something right (and BETTER) to be put on the album. Tiger Army was just a download and wasnt sold in stores. Its a great song, and vocals arent needed to hear the creativity on this song or the trouble making Oogie is up to. I hear Oogies theme loud and clear.
@HappyPurpleBoy Actually possible considering the only difference between the guitar and our voice is a guitar is pluck, strummed, and picked while we use air to vibrate our vocal chords. One way of looking at it is all. Just like writing has a tone.
This version is nice, but for me the most memorable part of the song was the voice and the lyrics. To be honest I almost didn't notice the instrumentals; I'm certain I'd notice if they were missing, but they weren't a large player in the song. So I'd say it makes sense for this to sound "off" or for people not to like it due to its lack of lyrics; it's good music, but it's not as good of an Oogie Boogie song.
This is a cover. Of which, the whole point is creative expression. Where's the fun if it's exactly the same?! The whole concept of this band is gorgeous guitar playing. They have other covers too without the singing. Danny Elfman wouldn't have asked them to do it if he thought it should be done a different way...
i think one of the main reasons is that the artists probably couldn't speak english since their from Mexico. Also, if you've seen the movie a lot, you should be able to follow along w/ no problem.
@voiletdreams I actually emailed him about that a few months ago ^^; He said he would like to but was busy with recording songs for his newest album. But who knows, if enough of us ask he might do it now! =D
@yahuaa You can even go more scientific than that. The only difference between the plucking of a guitar string and a human voice is the combination of formants in any particular portion of the sound.
if you're a fan, you should be able to follow along easily and wouldn't care about words. man, it's called an INTERPRETATION, meaning, things are going to change and not gonna be exactly the same, even if it means taking out the lyrics to hear an AMAZING instrumental. look at Pearl Jam, most don't know that before the vocalist got in there, it was just instrumental, but he wrote lyrics to already existing songs. people don't get pissed about that. it's the same here, just reversed
The Cynical Brony's Official UA-cam Page There's no spanish guitar or english guitar, there's just classical, folk and electric (those are the main three). Spain has a certain way of playing, true (flamenco and that stuff...).
its actually supposed to be sandy claws and boogie not sally its just a girls voice in the real movie sandy asks what boggies gonna do and boogie replies just sayin
tbh, I prefer the original one in the film. This is still cool though, just doesn't feel the same... If I could play guitar I'd play this... I wanna watch Nightmare Before Christmas again
i love a nice, dark, mysterious instrumental song. right up maii alley. but i have a lot of alleys, so yeah. a lot of things are in my alley. meaning song-wise. i like a lot of music is what i mean. i have to stop BABBLING and press post already LOL okay bye
1:52 Female voice frightfully asks "so what are you gonna do??" optimistic demon replies, "imma do the best I can"
This has the same kind of power as the original to make me want to dance.
and it's so latin :)
it's Flamenco so you're not wrong
amazing, its just incredible, i love this version.
Oh dios como amo esta version, es un grandisimo cover, increible cancion.
It really doesn't need vocals, it's incredible all by itself.
I'm sorry, lads and ladies, but you are absolutely lying to yourself if you don't think this is the most amazing thing.
Oh man, this is awesome. They used such a broad range of artists! This is a great rendition of the orinal.
Even without words, this version is pretty awesome. Probably one of top favorites of the whole Revisited set.
This isn't the Oogie Boogie, this is El Hombre Del Saco!!
I think is an awesome version. Stop comparing it to the actual Oogie boogie song, they cannot be compared in any way. Take it for what it is, a gorgeous flamenco guitar piece.

they're so amazingly talented. i really love this version.
This used to be my least favorite song in the movie. They just made it the best cover on this entire album. A lot of respect to Rodrigo y Gabriela.
Just imagine being surrounded by a pack of rowdy monsters (how about werewolves?), and think of Oogie being there too. Don't forget to make him dance like from the movie. Hope it helps! :D
Rodrigo Y Gabriela (: The Best Duo
All I have to say is that Rodrigo and Gabriella obviously did something right (and BETTER) to be put on the album. Tiger Army was just a download and wasnt sold in stores. Just catching up to this. THE best cover on the disc. A twisted cover of a twisted song. If you’ve never seen them live, do!
its awesome how they put all their style in the cover
Oh Hot Topic how I miss thee
thanks for the upload
two gods, using a godly film soundtrack.
actually, im speachless... is so beautiful
Es mi versión favorita!!
Me encanta!!!
This is so great!! I completely adore it!
how do you people not recognize how amazing this is? it doesnt NEED words to be great... it just is =)
oh wow this is freaking cool, i really like it.
the guitar is really amazing O.O
Yeah, it does. That's a really good way to describe it! I'm trying to think of where they might add a bit of a flute part though.
the best i cant choose... either the marilyn mason one, plain white tees,
This is epic in so many ways....
I actually agree, if you know the lyrics by heart, then this is absolutely wonderful. It's just stuck in my head
@mineMissHellsing Amen! Nice to see there's people that still appreciate MUSIC.
So good, well done!
I miss the lyrics
This version Is a masterpeace in its own right.
-bliss....
Wow this is amazing! I like this more than the original. It's like dark jazz almost metal. I think this is the best cover I have ever heard.
Best song from this record definitely.
NO. FECKING. WAY!!!! THEY DID A SONG FOR IT TOO?!?!?!?!? AND IT'S SOOOOO GOOOOOOOOOOD!!!!!!!!
@VoiletDreams I WOULD LOVE TO!!!! It's sad that they didn't ask me. : (

marskatsd if you want lyrics check Man On The Internet. Theyve covered this one
Awesome thankyou !
This is really good! It'd be a perfect instrumental for someone who wants to cover the song!
This is a cover. Of which, the whole point is creative expression. Where's the fun if it's exactly the same?! The whole concept of this band is gorgeous guitar playing. Great session! !!
thank god for guitar center sessions:)
1) they are two. Rodrigo and his sister gabriella.
2) They are mexican
3) They dont need lyrics, the guitar work is the preliminary focus point
I could listen for ages.
...who pressed the dislike button? why would anyone want to do something so horrible to such a great track?
Rodrigo's leading and Gabriela's doing the rhythm
i think one of the main reasons is that the artists probably couldn't speak english since their from Mexico. Also, if you've seen the movie a lot, you should be able to follow along w/ no problem.
amazing....
i honestly hated this song when i first heard it, but once i realized that the notes were singing the words, i fell in love with it ^_^
rodrigo y gabriela is all acoustic music but theyre great at covers
If I only had the guitar tabs
oh my god, so danceable and amazing! :D
Really a great cover.
@voiletdreams I actually emailed him about that a few months ago ^^; He said he would like to but was busy with recording songs for his newest album. But who knows, if enough of us ask he might do it now! =D

What is this awesomeness that I have stumbled upon?
:D
This is sooo awesome *u* I have it on repeat
This reminds me of "grim fandango" XD
Great cover, but I personally would have kept the melody on the left and the rhythm on the right.
it gets a little pirates of the Caribbean around 2:10 xD
I love thisssss so much.
awesome!
Oh, this is very interesting and nice)
this guys are awesome!!
Wow!
"YOUR JOKING! YOUR JOKING!"
It sounds a bit like the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy theme tune at 1:10. lol, well to me anyway.
Anyone else think that parts of this version of the song sound like "Night Falls ~ Evening Star"? O.o
Wow.
i can hear their fingers callousing...Epic :D
Wow!!! Génial!!!
Amazing!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!! 🎃🤙
They do a lot of cover songs without singing. Check out their cover of Stairway to Heaven. Absolutely beautiful... :)
theyre not siblings
their names are Rodrigo Sánchez, and Gabriela Quintero,
hear the song while playing mortal kombat x
That is practically what this is. An instrumental album cover for the original song.
@dindonrosales estos han participado en la banda sonora de piratas del caribe 4, verdad?
Great song
debería exitir el botón.. "re-like"
@pummeluffbaum Someone posted a link on my Facebook page. facebook(dot)com/voltairenfanpage
ooooooraaaaaaaleeeeeeeeeee muy bueno

this is fucking bad ass.
Tabs would be awesome, i gotta play to or 3 more things that are hard doing it for ear!
I don't know why but it sounds like some weard crossover between french and spanish music.
Describe "french" and "spanish" music ?
The Cynical Brony's Official UA-cam Page

Reminds me of l4d
its actually supposed to be sandy claws and boogie not sally

just sayin
@marcelfg1 I dont know what the hell you said but it sounded like F vivo so i agree......
wow
@VoltaireMusicPage Didn't Marilyn Manson do his cover before they did the Revisited thing?
Screw them asking just do it :)
I like this (:
Is it weird I get tangeled kingdom dance vibes during this?
tbh, I prefer the original one in the film. This is still cool though, just doesn't feel the same...
If I could play guitar I'd play this...
I wanna watch Nightmare Before Christmas again
insanity
