What I only realized while watching your reaction to Summertime Rendering: in the early episode where Shinpei sees kimono Ushio walking through the festival, a sign that should've said Hiruko shrine instead said Hito shrine. In other words, yes, not only did that Shinpei from forever ago see *this* Ushio, the environment itself had also crossed over from the other and final timeline.

In the manga and novel that follow, in 2026, HAINE has skipped a grade at age 16 and enrolled in Tokyo University. When he and HIZURU head to a real estate agency to look for a place to live, they discover an apartment for rent that is unusually cheap. When they ask the clerk, he tells them that it is a room that has been built 44 years ago and that over 100 residents have moved out within the last six months. Hearing that there have been no incidents or accidents in the room, but that paranormal phenomena occur, Heine and Hizuru decide to live together out of curiosity. Heine has eidetic memory. - Shinpei is training to be a restaurant chef in Tokyo. Ushio is a local elementary school teacher and Ryunosuke is a local high school teacher.
Although it is not directly depicted, Shinpei and Ushio are in a long-distance relationship.
The room mystery is what the manga covered, but the novel covers 3 other mystery arcs as well. Together it's enough for a cour of anime, which I really wish would happen one day.
The Novel is not canon because the story is not written by the original author so the part with Ushio and Shinpei as well can not be considered as canon. Mangaka only did the illustrations for that novel.

The manga "Summertime Render 2026: Accident-Preventing Property" has the same author, and the novel is also supervised by the original author, so there shouldn't be any problems, right?

@@arahard25017 Yeah no problem with the manga. But the LN is not written by author so I don't consider it as canon. Even if author supervised it, doesn't mean that he wrote it. There is a huge difference for that. Ushio and Shinpei that we saw in original author work would never decide to live separately for 8 more years (and probably more than that cause shinpei is still an apprentice lol) after going through all that sh*t. So yeah, I will never believe that the Novel is a canon work.
At the end of the day, the whole title of 2026 was born to celebrate the anime decision of the manga so there is no point in taking it seriously in the first place.
Summertime Rendering is one of my top favourite Anime, it was just soo perfect ❤

there is actually a sequel of this titled about hizuru and haine as main characters. definitely recommended to read the manga and the light novel.

Alana, there is a manga and novel sequel to Summertime Rendering, featuring Hizuru and Haine.
It's a supernatural mystery thriller collection with Haine in her late teens and Hizuru as sort of her guardian/big sis/auntie role.
It's great, and I hope one day it gets an anime adaptation.

In a parallel world they came together and triumphed over evil shadows, in this new timeline am sure all that was carried through was their bond and Shinpei is just left with this unexplainable feeling of relief and happiness to see everyone at the Island especially Ushio.

It still bothers me the fact nobody remembered everything that has happened besides Ushio and Shinpei perhaps because of that thing they had at the end,
Part of me wished everybody had that Steins Gate moment, but maybe all those struggles weren't worth remembering too for some😅

I wonder what happened to his parents this, supposedly shide killed them so what happened in the final timeline? Owell it was great ending
Shinpei's parents are doing perfectly fine! The scene is cut from the reaction here, but right before Shinpei steps into the cafe (around 3:55 in this reaction), he's checking his phone for messages and you can see that he was texting his parents about picking him up. Because his parents were never killed by shadows, Shinpei wasn't adopted/looked after by the Kofune family, but his family and theirs continued to be close.
@@zeldaindisguiseI see, thank you very much I always wondered what happened and why they didn't show them in person in the finale (because they were huge part for his character and cost ushio life's to get answers) so I assumed it was forgotten or they actually died, so thank you for clearing it up
