- I found the ancient PC my earliest compositions were stored on. This was before I used any kind of DAW or even knew anything about music. The songs were written in MML (Music Macro Language) using QBASIC back in 1997 or earlier. The file was revisited and modified several times so I don't have it's actual creation date but it's at least a year older. Skip to (0:55) to listen.
If some of these tunes sound like completely random notes to you, that's because they are. I had zero understanding of what notes were at the time.
For one of STAFFcirc's albums, I was asked to remake my first song or something, but the notes were too random so I gave up and asked for a new prompt. But before I did, I wrote about 30 seconds of music which you can hear at the end (2:06).
My earliest MIDI compositions from 1998-2000 were lost in a hard drive crash. :( These were the songs I was hoping to find because they showed my earliest attempts at making music with actual harmony and rhythm...which I didn't really understand at the time so I ended up doing what I was better at which was recreating video game songs by ear.
The original song by itself: • My first song (1997)
The harmonized version by itself: • My first song (1997) (...
ps: I sped up the boot up
2:08 onwards:
I'm DEAD
how does it boot so fast LOL
Since when did IBM stand for Incredibly Badass Music :O
What a really good reinterpretation of a "simple" song :D
Haha awesome pc sounds.
You have come a long way.
Sounds amazing! I would love to make it a branding jingle! :)
That boot up time
youre music is really awesome, any reason u dont put anything on bandcamp or anything?
I feel like I can hear a slight Cardiacs influence in there.
you have good hands.
I like how this sounds, honestly. But I don't know if there could be an MP3 or MIDI link to it, though. I want to arrange it, if it's okay with you..
(I'm talking about 2:07-2:29.)
Ilove it
thank you for this video
