❤ I wanted to thank you for this video. My rescue donkey is/was difficult but I got him in with the “let the trailer help you “ method. I will be forever grateful oh yes and Kinney is to! I found a longer rope gave me more leverage to pull and psh from behind at the same time. So very happy you took the time to make this video!

This is wonderful! I've found myself becoming a guardian over two standard (on the smaller side) donkeys as the owner of the land lives in a city about 90 mi from me. A mule is joining them soon. Anyhow, I've always been a horse or pony gal but have learned SO much about how it is NOT the same when it comes to donks and mules. Glad I found out prior to starting to work with them. It took about a month before the one would allow me to touch his withers. I've also learned patience. Thanks for this.

I help care for 2 minis, one will load and even hang out on the trailer. The other one is afraid to load whether or not the other is on the trailer or not. Any ideas to help relax the one that is afraid?

Ask, tell and demand. Use a halter and ask to load (bump once) if not tell them (bump twice) and last if they don’t on tell, then demand (bump 3 times). Never pull them in. If they don’t go on ask, tell and demand, tie them off where they stopped. Don’t let them recess from that spot. 2 times max for anything. 3 times becomes a learned behavior. Hope this helps.
