I don't know about Uganda's politics but in India we face a similar problem; people cling to history more ancient than the Bible as if the time period makes us more honorable. You may be right that we should not insult kings of earlier time. If we take the example of UK, the barons systematically reduced the power of their monarch and a parliament evolved. It took more than 200 years; after their colonial ties with America crashed. Maybe my knowledge of history is mixed up but one thing's for sure; if history is to save us, we must use it as a ramp to run over and leap into the future.
