    Trains 21 is a documentary of railroading in the 21st century and a look at the fascinating world of transportation. On this channel we deal with all aspects of trains with a strong focus on the Northeast USA.
    The goal is for you to learn a lot in a short amount of time.. A major infusion of knowledge in just a few minutes.. And if those few minutes distilled some of the best railroad information in the industry, we feel that we've done our job..
    The trick is clarity.. Clear, concise and on point.. New videos are uploaded frequently and if you like what you see, comment, like and subscribe (in that order!).

    The Long Island Railroad used GP38-2s for commuter services from 1976 to 1998. There's some still being used on Long Island by the NY&Atlantic Railway for freight service.

      I know they existed from day one, but I'm not accustomed to seeing GP40s without dynamic brake blisters.

    I have an exciter key for a GP 38-2. It's in my collection somewhere.😂😂

    Terrific in depth episode , thanks so much, I cant help think the History of the Alco PA in a two parts series given the " Trains 21 "" treatment would give great insite and sort through a lot of myths surrounding the model. Just Ideas. Keep up the great work .

    The E M D family of 38 and 40 series locomotives were literally the mechanical saving of the rail industry. Whatever made them think they could get away with quality cuts with the 50 and 60 series and wreck their business?

    @ 00:54... isn't a roots blower and a turbo charger the same thing???

    • @paulsartorello836
      @paulsartorello836 Місяць тому +1

      No, they are not. A roots blower is driven from the crankshaft. A turbocharger is driven by the exhaust gases
