"Workin' On"
Chasing after that dollar like it’ll slow down my hurry
Settle all my worries when I get it in my wallet
quit dipping’ long enough to own a pair of jeans
That don’t have a ring in the back pocket
Laughing at myself, admitting when I’m wrong
That’s what this gold ol’ boy’s gonna go out workin’ on
[Chorus:]
Workin’ on coming to Jesus, kicking the bottle,
Wrestling with our roots,
Trying to turn off Mama’s tears, and feel up Daddy’s boots
Shutting off our pride, fixing bridges we burned, learning how to live and learn
Keeping our demons down and our trucks up and running
Loving them angels sitting pretty in the middle of ‘em
Fighting with the man in the mirror til we gone
Yeah, that’s what all us good ol’ boys gonna go out workin’ on
Gonna go out workin’ on
Giving more forgiveness, picking battles worth choosing
Little less cussin’ and losin’ my temper and my tools
Dialin’ down my restless, outgrowing my reckless
and my reputation for breaking hearts and rules
Realizin’ what I got what I got before it’s gone
That’s what this good ol boy’s gonna go out
Workin’ on…
Fighting with the man in the mirror til’ we gone
Yeah, that’s what all us good ol’ boys gonna go out workin’ on
Gonna go out workin’ on
Owning up to my weakness, keeping it humble but strong
Doin’ the best I can with this flesh and bone
Yeah, that’s what all us good ol’ boys gonna go out workin’ on
Gonna go out workin’ on
Want more? Request and I shall deliver :D
My dad died two years ago and I held his hand as he died and when all my family left the room I sat there and cried everything I knew was gone and i went into a very deep depression I didn't want to talk to anyone before he died he gave me his truck and told me to fix it and take care of it and when I always think of him I remember all the good things he told me and all the things. And think about all the things I learnt from him.
The same thing happened to me but he got killed in a tractor and I was on the other side of the field
Yo i feel you im so sorry
@@adammays3566 that's awful 😔😫
Sorry for your loss
I am soooooo sorry 😔
Even some of who aren’t Christian can embrace the general message.
Better yourself daily, do right by others and pitch in when you can. Don’t throw a fit when things don’t go your way and learn to take a deep breath and start over. It’s a never ending battle and it’s the way I’d like to be remembered.
Prayers and thoughts to you all
I didn’t know this song existed until like 2 weeks ago and it’s my favorite. Workin’ on comin to jesus💞
You know what I love! This comment section. So many wonderful people telling their story and others comforting and helping them..you don't get this with rap music ...God bless
I disagree. You don't get this with "some rap nowadays." Just found this song last night tho and I love it. And I love the comment section as well
Plenty of communal support and story sharing in comments on songs that hit home no matter the genre. Check out Eminem's channel. You'll find that those of us who listen to him do the same thing there.
I also disagree.. & would like to recommend a song (normaly I don't do this on other musicians videos, respect and everything) by a band mostly rappish, but they are combining their music with rock or pop often.
Epik high - lost one (I think it's mostly Tablo's song, the singer, at least it's what was in his mind because family and ... the song tell's the story. Not I.)
It's not english, but good, very calm & the official video has subtiles to turn on
Edit: only 'cause I've overseen 2 typos / spelling-mistakes, sry~
My brother served 9 years and it's so hard to see him go through everything he went through on his deployments. I wish I could help but I wont give up on him and I know he will keep working and every soldier has to be strong cause we care about our soldiers not the war bring our men and women home it's time to give that shit hole up and come home.
Owning up to my weaknesses..
Keeping it humble, but strong..
Doin the best I can, with this flesh and bone.....
You sure got that right, Colt!
My grandpa worked in the oil field since he was 15. He grew up in the Great Depression. He was 61 one when cancer made him quit. He died 5 months later. I remember at his funeral and hearing every one their telling us how he lifted up a truck engine and put it on a table in their workshop. He was incredibly strong. Had them oil field hands. He gave me his wedding ring to use for when I get married and damn do I have some space. His fingers where the size of the handle of a baseball bat. Miss ya grandpa Charlie. Love ya
dont stop workin on even if you hit rock bottom you still have a reason to keep on
true
Rock bottom is always a good foundation to start building

My friends and I lost our buddy Logan in a car wreck. This was his favorite song. We play it on repeat every day, chew fatties for him, every beer is for him. We miss you Logan, you were the sweetest boy and touched everyone’s heart
I'm sorry for your lost
I always think about my dad to this song
Holy shit a girl who enjoys a pinch
I'm sorry for car wreck
Always gotta have a few cold ones for the good ones that passed on
Hell , this song is how life is. We working on it. Lost it all including my right eye, but the biggest challenge is the man I see in the mirror when I shave. Still working on that
you got this
My dad, wasnt a father. Drunk drug dealer, him and momma both. Me, I was raised by my grandparents. My grandpa took the title paw. Taught me how to be a man and he taught me about life. This sing reminds me about what he taught me
This good ol boy has been workin on bettering himself. Compared to 5 years ago I'm slow to anger and just changed for the better
My Grandpa and I used to listen to Colt Ford, Trace Adkins, and alot of the other popular country singers from the mid 2000s, Its been almost 4 years now without him, and this song makes me think of him daily, miss you papa 😢❤️
One of the best songs ever! I've made my mom cry meany of times and try to fill my dads boots. This song helps me everytime
I'm sorry for all of those who lost themselves. I'm praying for you.
I listen to this song when I need a reminder. I have 3 children, none biologically mine. I didn't want to be a mom. I didn't think I'd make a good one. But I loved my husband, and them. Their mom stepped out years ago, so I stepped up. Everything goes to them. 70 hour weeks at work, broken bones, dog bit, blistered hands and gashes. When I'm in my head, or overwhelmed, this song makes me get my shit together.
my dad died april 17 2015 and this song takes a hard meaning for me shutting off mommas tears and fill up daddys boots thats so me right now but im gonna go out workin on amen......
and that's all you can do. keep on, workin' on, brother.
Untamed Mind my grandpa died April 15 2015, he was like my dad :/
I am so sorry. It's hard. I do the same to turn off my momma tears and fill my daddy's boots as well because he died on May 31, 2006
srry for ur lost
Not much of a country fan but this song rocks!!
The part about the Mama and Daddy, is really true about my family. And it sucks when you know whats happening. But it happened when I was 5 and didn't know what was happening. And trying not to cry everytime you think about it.
Brings up so many memories but I can't not play it I love it to much, brings tears to my eyes but work it on..... This is by far one of ma favorite songs
This song here will make you realize life in general. This song hits me so hard bc i did shut off my mamas tears and fill my daddies boots and kick the bottle. This song gives me the strength for my daughter and my fiance bc and i will go out workin on my family bc i never had one just like he says realize what you got before its gone. Great song its power and will in words
Very true
My father left me and my family struggling. I've been trying to do everything I can to help. Now me and my family are doing better.
This song motivates me to keep pushing and fighting through my life lately I have been fighting very very harsh depression and I live in a very rough house hold that I've been working for a year to get money to get my truck running and moved out but this song here keeps me going great motivation

Quinn Fenicle you can do it
Semper fi. You got this
Do be so quick to die like they did. I dont mean it in a mean way, but our govt is not what you think. Neither is war, most vets come backif they made fucked up in the head bc they had to take orders. Living with following those orders effects them for a lifetime, and for what? To be shuned and become outcast of a nation you killed. Dont throw your body upon the gears of the military industrial complex bc of pride. U have a misunderstanding and really need to think about it.
Semper Fi make it home safe God bless the troops
You got this... we need more like you in this messed up world....
Found this song trying to find pretty heart and so glad I did. I needed this
Not long ago my mom lost her sister due to mental illness, my dad left her for someone after finding out he has a 12yr old son he claimed he didn’t know about, and recently she was diagnosed with breast cancer, I’ve been trying to suppor my mom through all of it and this song is spot on “Workin’ on coming to jesus, trying to turn off Mama’s tears, and fill up Daddy’s boots” 🙏
I love this song, its written very powerfully. Excellent example of a song exuding redemption
All my jeans have a cope ring my temper is too short got too much pride but I can turn off my mommas tears and I’m tryna fill my daddies boots. I relate to this so much. Any good ole southern boy will.

The first time we saw a movie about it than we did it in
My father passed in october he served 8 years and has always had bad ptsd and always hit the bottle hard to drown it out but would work his ass off some times you can only run from your past for so long and drown it out till your last day
I'm going to keep working on in my life. It's hard when you feel like there is nothing you can do, but try. You can try and do what you need to do, and never feel like its worth it, but the Lord will never put you in something that you can't get through.
