Thanks Steve. I always enjoy your videos. Nick talking about the clubs here makes me smile. That is where I got my musical education going to areas where a gun was a good idea. During my year in Reno in 85, I saw them at the Chi Chi a few times. I always had a great time and enjoyed some of the best live music I've seen out of too many shows to count. They did a fantasy world one night that blew my hair back and spun my head around. There were too many of those moments. Seeing John C play from feet away was a treat that I'll never forget. He was a one of a kind guitarist in his own league and among the very best. I was lucky to see a few Zero and Dinosaurs shows too. One fun day was at Ranch Rocks. I flew back out for that. A show with that lineup at Pyramid was just too cool to miss.
It's a treasure to discover any unseen interview or musical footage of John Cipollina and Nick Gravenites. The date of this interview is somewhat shocking, though. It is only one month before John Cipollina passed away from a congenital illness. He is so quiet here ....did he know he was near the end? He starts to speak as the video ends...I wish I could have heard what he had to say. But still, grateful for the clip.
