The biggest secret is test weekly like you said. As long as you keep your parameters where they are consistently you dont need to change water. Also my clowns love my welso too.

Yes! Especially in the early stages, testing is pivotal. As the system matures and has the proper livestock you’d be amazed how efficient it is at taking stabilizing itself. As long as we don’t over stock it or rush the process.

25ppm Nitrate and 0.15 PO is crazy high

It depends, some would agree and some would disagree. Yes, there are more optimal rages for sure but my numbers are manageable.

Mine were higher so this to me is a good range.

Yeah, it varies for everyone. Also what stage you’re in with the tank. Younger aquariums may not do as well as more mature systems with my current numbers. I will speak a little more on this for my next upload to clarify.

@@Social_Reefer Well i appreciate your second reply and honesty, but this isnt a matter of opinions, 25ppm nitrate is objectively bad, 0.15PO sure thats "high" for some people and maybe okay for others, but 25ppm nitrate is objectively very bad.
The oceanis at 0.5-2.5 ppm nitrate, nitrate is pure concentrated fertilizer / END waste product. If its very high, that means there is not enough export of poop.
Hey your tank is probably totally fine with 25ppm nitrate, and you might not have ANY issues, but 25 ppm IS very high, and its a HIGH RISK of algae / cyano. It doesnt mean you WILL get negative results tho.
The problem with such statements is that new people to this hobby might think "Oh, my tank is also 25ppm and if this tank is so beautiful then 25ppm Nitrate is completely safe". Then they get cyano / GHA and start crying. Its a trap for many brainless hobbyists. You clearly know what youre doing, others might not, saying "This is managable" or "This isnt that high" will fuck up a bunch of poor kids getting into this hobby.
25ppm nitrate IS objectively HIGH and is HIGH RISK for algae outbreaks, some people get lucky, others have experience on how to handle it. But the fact is, its not a good value to keep long term for any reef.

You are correct and thanks for pointing that out… when comparing to the ocean 25 ppm is very high and ofcourse Mother Nature knows best… but I’m not trying to replicate Mother Nature… when comparing to people who have been in the hobby successfully for many years 25ppm is not that bad. There are reefers in the hobby right now that keep their nitrates in the 20 range and well above without any issues and have all type of fish & coral thriving. Obviously that’s not everyone’s preference but it doesn’t mean it’s not doable or that it’s luck… I definitely should’ve been clearer with my statements though, you are right about that. I didn’t separate the two topics clearly enough about my current tank numbers and my advice for new reefers coming into the hobby. I should’ve been more thorough... but I want to be clear I do not reccomend my numbers for new people coming into the hobby. It’s a recipe for disaster. I will give clarity on that in my next video and be more detailed about it. Also, I honestly am new to the hobby myself I’ve only been doing this for 3 years but I did my due diligence and follow advice from respected hobbyist and am only expressing what has worked for me so far and trying to pass it down so others can have an easier path and have more confidence coming into the hobby. As we all know there are many routes one can take in this hobby there isn’t only one way.
