As a Korean, I am so glad that you had travel to South Korea and enjoyed there. You look good to wear Korean attire. I have that lens and I think that the lens is good to take picture. It is so light and small to carry with Sony camera.
Thank you!! It was amazing! Loved the food and had a great time there. Can't wait to go back.. Just have to wait for the borders to be open again 😒😞 Agreed with the lens and camera. Great combo!
@@JohnSisonPhotography Yes, I have 18mm, 24mm, and 45mm of Samyang. All of them are very great items. And you are so lucky to visit our land before the Corona Virus. I hope you visit here again someday... 😭
@@soribaram975 Love those lenses! I want to go to Jeju! It will have to wait though unfortunately but we were very lucky to visit before lockdowns and restrictions happened.
Great review John - Short & sweet , love it! Looks like a fantastic value lightweight option for E mount... great for a6000 + A7 series.. Might pick one up down the line for travel :)
The docking station is reasonably priced, and once you get one Samyang/Lens, you’ll be getting another. So, it’ll pay for itself, imo. I got the 24mm f/1.8, and six months later, I just got this one - the 45mm. The new V.6 firmware upgrade improves the focus in video, btw.
Congratulations, are the first person on the entire internet I came across who took a decent everyday photo with a smaller F Stop than f4 with this lens. Thank you ! I want to make land and cityscapes with this lens (at f 4-8 at least) Yet, I heard the corners are always a bit soft. Would you recomend me to save up for something or is it a minor thing I shouldn't be worried about ?
Haha thanks Vincent! I found it was a bit difficult to get extremely sharp corners. I myself didn't find it the biggest issue because I use it for more street photos but if you were to use it for cityscapes where you would need it tack sharp, it might be a problem.
Nice review John, i've got the Sigma 50mm 1.4 but during a journey the weight "wtf", i saw this Samyang do you think if i'll take one i ll lost or not a big quality. Many thanks.
@@JohnSisonPhotography thank you very much for your response and suddenly I ordered this little Samyang, and your videos are superb because tests are done on the way 90% of people use their cameras. Well done.
The Sigma has the better build with the aperture ring but the Samyang would be better when it comes down to image quality and better low light and bokeh because it has the F1.8 aperture.

Thanks for watching! It's a great lens to pick up for travel photography.

Awesome! Thanks for your input. I like the 45mm but the 75mm is my favourite from Samyang. I think it's time to update my lens then hehe.
Thanks for sharing!
Do u think this lens is sharper than the Sony 35mm 2.8 Zeiss?
Another great review. Thanks John
Looking forward for comparison video, sigma vs samyang vs tamron
o0o that would be a good comparison indeed! Lets see what I can do.
I love my Samyang 35mm 2.8, looking forward for them to make a 16mm, hopefully soon.
I love that lens! Let's see what they come out with! 😉

great review JOHN!!! i wana go to Korean now! hahahaha
i love samyang lenses now lol
Shall we plan another trip then?! lol 😝
Get the 75mm too!
@@JohnSisonPhotography BRRRROOOOOOOOOOO that would be sick!!!!! Japan vibes all over again hehe

I don't think you will to be honest or not as much. I think this a good lens and a good balance with weight/size/quality.

I got it. It's sharper than i think. Good item!
Awesome! Hope you enjoy your lens!
Do all of the 45mm need to be firmware updated upon perches...?
Will this lens be good for the sony a7ii and i plan on shooting for b roll.
Great video, thx John, Adam, Tofino.CA
Thank you and you're welcome! 😊
How is it for video? I have the 45 and 24 from samyang and both have pretty loud af sound in video mode and for me it is unusable. Thx
The 45mm can be noticed in quiet situations but in places with ambient sound, it's not noticeable.
Comparison to the Sigma 45mm 2.8?
The Sigma has the better build with the aperture ring but the Samyang would be better when it comes down to image quality and better low light and bokeh because it has the F1.8 aperture.
Shooting on an apcs like Sony a6300 which would u prefer the sigma 56 or the this lens?
Between those two, I'd probably go with the Sigma. Mainly cause it has an F1.4 aperture.
Does it have noticeable distortion vs 50mm lens?
I wouldn't say there is any noticeable distortion.
Do I need a firmware update for the Sony alpha 7?
You shouldn't need to from memory but there is a firmware update for the 45mm f1.8.
arbor boss!
😄😄
Why your face so BIG?
Ate too much food in Korea 😋Soo good though!
