The effort that was put into making this 🤩 , thank you so much for this video , and for including some of her more recent work and shows with nightwish !! Finally someone that does that :))
Thank you so much. I'm in Tears, our Queen Floor Jansen, The Best Singer of all time. I follow her since 2002, Supreme Perfection, spectacle of nature.❤❤
From the examples you gave it might look like the F6 note is not actually sung, but Floor can really sing (not scream) that high. Check out 7 Days To The Wolves at Wembley 2015 (Nightwish - Live at Wembley Arena 2015 (Full Concert HD 1080p)), at 50:12 si goes all out, and the word "poison" is sung in F6. I love everything about this woman, she really is the Wonder Woman of metal! PS: Thank you for this video and all your hard work!
The F6 in Romanticide is not a scream, but a carefully produced vocal effect: it is a slide, which is hard to do and takes and immense amount of control, especially when the range over which you perform is this big (about 3 octaves), and it crosses all the "passagio's" etc.
so much emotion and passion holy smokes that vocal range she has night after night im in tears too how can you not be with what im hearing holy heavens fantastic work the effortless transitions she does is second to none make those speakers ring out
u are brilliant to make this video it must take so much time and effort ! also these videos take a lot of space in the computer ! u included a lot of videos that were not in NW era. and different types of texture of the notes ! i have never seen that long C5 in GLS
More important than the pitch is the tone Floor produces throughout the range. She has the versatility to sing the same note in multiple different styles to suit the song and has the musicality to make the right choices when doing so.
The best Lyric Mezzo-Soprano in mainstream music today. Devastatingly beautiful, melancholy, lachrymose timbre from C4-D#6 whilst in Legato (Poet and The Pendulum, Nemo, finale of GLS). Adele, Florence Welch and Amy Lee are the other extremely popular Lyric Mezzo-Sopranos in mainstream music, but Floor's in a league of her own.
Simple basic fact: Mezzo's have a range that goes up to about A5, Soprano's have a range that goes up to C6, or higher. Floor Jansens range easily goes up to D6 and íf necessary to E6 or even F6. Ergo: Floor Jansen is a SOPRANO, and NOT a mezzo soprano! Please LEARN YOUR FACTS before you tell porkies!
I genuinely think she is one of the best singers ever. However I think her only vocal "flaw" is sometimes she tries to sing operatically but her headvoice is not trained for true classical styles as she widens her vowels way to much and too early in her range and her larynx rises a quite a bit . But she comes very close and her headvoice is still very powerful and impressive
Floor is a Soprano but not a lyric Soprano. Her voice isn't "that light". The lyric fach isn't just about the range but also about the timbre of the voice, how light/dark and light/heavy it sounds in classical singing.
the d3 of floor in songof my self is very forced, it is a note of her register, but not of her tessitura, she should not sing below G # 3, the tessitura of a lyric soprano goes from c4 to d6, you can sing lower or higher yes, but that's the register and not all the notes are going to shine ... up and down that limit ......... let the sun sing f # 5 or G # 5 no It should be nothing to dazzle us, because she is a lyrical soprano, they must be easy notes and even obligatory for her .......... any note above the d6 that would give it with power and brightness and without a microphone, So if she would admire me and we would be talking about a light or coloratura soprano and then if we would consider her one out of series .......... neither she, nor tarja or lori or other lyrical metal singers, could sing a musical complete, much less an opera, don't overdo it with your vocal skills
I don't sing the D3. I sing F#3 and G3 below G#3. I sing G#3. I sing C4. I sing D6. I sing F#5. I sing G#5. I can sing E6 and Eb6 above D6. I sing D6. I'm a light coloratura soprano.

By far the best female vocalist in metal!
What a woman! What a voice! Floor is the best!

I can sing that long C5 in glissando in chest voice only. That's the opposite of falsetto.
I need a video of Vibeke Stene, she is one of the best metal vocalist
Yes! I love her voice too
Hell yeah!
Her project Veil of Secrets is also very beautifully done it is in the style of the old Tristania.
Awesome job. loved it. she's damn powerful.
she hit e2 on ghost river
I don't hit an E2.

👍👍FLOOR JANSEN 👍👍
amaaazing!
Wrong. She does F#6 in 'Ever Dream' the version in all the reaction videos.
23:24 Whammy bar😂
I'm a full lyric soprano.
Is she soprano right?
Mezzo-Soprano. Her voice is very smooth, lachrymose and melancholy.
@@kimberlyh.1090 ahh and she has so many low notes...so that explains that too...right?
@@ivanromero216 And she prefers singing in the middle of her voice and then shoots up to her head voice.

Yes, she's a lyric soprano
