I was just diagnosed with PMDD (basically a very intense version of PMS) and I'm also an artist selling my work online. I've taken the "cycle syncing" approach to my business for the last couple of months now. During the week before my period, I just can't create anything, I can't even pick up my brush. It's like trying to produce a Patronus while depressed (Potter nerd here 🤓) so I take it slowly and gently and focus on doing admin stuff that I normally put off because I'd rather be painting. I think it's totally normal to follow your energy.
P monthly periods years ago for me were just awful. I would be angry and feeling that well and didn't want to do nothing laying in the bed and like oh my gosh knew I had to go to school and knew I had to do things. So I do know what you're going through. It's unfortunate and you just have to deal with it the best. You know how that's all my advice that I can give to you. I am so glad I do not deal with this anymore but I still on occasion. Even though I'm 73 years old, I still do have my hot flashes which sometimes are not so pleasant and so that's what you have to do with after when you get older and the reason I watch your your videos. I love your animals the way you take care of them. I love your style of working. I am envy of your ability for your art and your passion and your truthfulness to everything and share things that some people wouldn't share. And I wish I had the guts at your age to do the same. Perhaps things with a bad a little bit different for me. But I do wish you the best and I will continue watching your videos. Thank you so much
your sketchbook pages always look fantastic! unfortunately since I moved house I haven't been able to create very much art, like you said sometimes it's hard to make time ❤
Would uou ever consider making a video on how you edit your video’s? There are so many lil details that I would love to see how you edit them! I just got a new laptop and want to learn how to edit properly but no one has like “aesthetic” editing tips haha
thank you for sharing a very real part of being a creative person and im very grateful that you took us with you throughout the week even on a low energy week! you absolutely didnt have to so you could take the time to really slow down and relax. this really inspired more creativity in me and reminded me to be gentle with myself
my advice is always: 1. research social media marketing 2. start on 3rd party sites like etsy, red bubble etc 3. look into selling in person at smaller art markets so you are not relying solely on the internet for people to find you. you will also help you build your local community 4. get involved in your local art community and build connections
Ugh this reminds me of And Just Like That where the fashion is just… not fashionable? I loooveddd sexand the city for the fashion but why do they all look like newscasters in the reboot….
the lack of motivation bc your period is coming is so real !!

Any advice for people struggling to sell their art ?
my advice is always:
1. research social media marketing
2. start on 3rd party sites like etsy, red bubble etc
3. look into selling in person at smaller art markets so you are not relying solely on the internet for people to find you. you will also help you build your local community
4. get involved in your local art community and build connections
