That's the suppression device. Totally different, tho I get why you would confuse the two. It's just the thing that brings hellfire down to the ground in front of the nexus.

@@mrstawiki Ohhh. So I checked sources around the internet and couldn't find anything conclusive. However, the citadel was built quite recently, 5 years from when gordon just arrives. I would imagine the suppression field was active way before that, maybe it was relocated to the citadel or it is as I originally thought, the job of the suppression device. They do sound intentionally similar. One question I keep asking is why would the combine go to this length protecting the overwatch nexus. Unless it has something of vital importance right? It feels like the suppression device is an extension, a protector if you would say, of what lies inside, the suppression field.
