I love this movie alot. reminds me alot about the simplicity of an indian mother her patience and the ability to forgive her kids even when they are very cruel.

I have watched English Vinglish for more than 43 times and the reason for watching it again and again is inspiration and motivation that the character Shashi provides me. This movie is incredible.
Aur aaj bakaai mai srideviji bar bar yaad aajati hai. Unke dialogues jaise jho achcha lage bho khana chaiye, Hume apna kaam pura karna chaiye, jho start kiya hai bho khatam karna hai, agar apne favorite subject mai fail ho gayi tho dusre subject mai pass hoke kya karungi, Agar pyar nahi karti tho 2 ladoo kyu khilati, Radha's dailouge while motivating her maternal aunty(Mosiji) whatever she has started should be ended by completing it etc,. R really heart touching dailouges of this movie.
Director Gauri Shinde has casted this movie excellently. And that cute child whom I saw in the serial Yeh Rishta kya kehlata hai is Osum . His dance with his mother at the end makes the movie more beautiful. Shashi's Michael Jackson dance when her son request her makes us laugh. AT the same time we see mother's love for her children especially for her child wins our hearts.
Also serious issues like disrespectful manner of daughter and husband towards mother is annoying. The only reason for this is that she doesn't have any knowledge of english.
This shows how r society gives respect to the person who knows English but english is not everything. People should have humanity, politness and kindness which r the sign of being human. But most of the people lack it. At the end when Shashi gave her emotional speech tears were in my eyes and now both husband and daughter realised their mistakes how they disrespected wife and mother respectively just for a simple reason that she don't know English language. And according to me as I said earlier, english does not mean everything. Where r those human virtues and nobles which people must possess?
At the end when her husband questioned her whether she loves him still or not? Shashi's answer touched our hearts when she says if she does not love him then why she make him eat 2 ladoos(sweet) that r placed in his plate.
This shows her love , care and respect towards her husband who humiliated her first.
Also their english class is too funny. We laugh on Eva who sleeps while teacher is giving lectures to their studends, Salman bhai who speaks non sense everytime and Ramamurty who is learning english just to show off his colleagues in the office.
Loren who has fallen in love with shashi but shashi is already married and therefore she denies his proposal which shows the inner beauty of the Indian woman that if they r married to one then they only accept their husband from both sides physically and mentally.
There is everything in this movie fun, mercy, humiliation, child and mother love, inspiration, motivation, determination, kindness, cutness, generosity, smartness, enjoyment and above all is the emotional speech which make everyone cry over it.
This movie is mind blowing 😘😘

The character Shashi suits Sri Devi so well , I don't think any other actresses would have played the character as well as Sri Devi did. And the story is also fantastic,it teaches us the importance of education that every person has the right to . Ur a legend Sri Devi u will always be remembered,💕💞💓💓💗💖🥰.

Neelu Neelanjana slapping the kid won't solve the problem on the contrary it'll make it much worse. She's a kid & kids do immature things like that. Sadly Sashi isn't respected by her husband that's why the kids treat her a certain way. The husband needs to be smacked first. Kids need to be handled with patience n care.
