  • Here's an updated video about my automatic calf feeding system, but that's not all! The guys are building a paint booth, and getting the baler ready for summertime harvest. I am working on restocking my pantry with homemade bone broth!
    Thanks for stopping in and we hope and pray that you have a very blessed day!

    Hello Ronda and to all the Family! You provide some of most enjoyable and interesting videos that I follow; plus, everyone in the family is very knowledgeable and talented for all the projects y’all accomplish!! Have the guys tried using Headlamps with multiple beam settings instead of flashlights? Frees up both hands for working with different light beam settings. Your Family is the true inspiration for everyone to follow! Thanks from here in Texas!!

    Kevin and the boys, sure can make a lot of background noise when you are filming. You need to have a sign that reads "Quiet on the set"!!! (Ha!Ha!) I bet my parents wished they could have had RFID tags for me and my brothers, so we didn't eat so much. Calves are little cuties as always. You have enough calves to have a "Calf Bowl" like they have Cat and Dog Bowls on TV.

    What is the wooden sub structure going to be used for ??

    • @trwaintime
      @trwaintime 17 годин тому +1

    Pretty cool feeders! Jw, do you recycle the RFID tags, or just keep them for when you cull the cow and snap it in her when she is leaving? I'm sorta familiar with the system, so when you assign a tag to an animal, it's supposed to be it's # until death do it part.(😂). I totally understand that they don't stay in the ears very well!👍👍

    • @acresofclayhomestead
      @acresofclayhomestead  9 годин тому +2

      Once the calf is weaned off the feeder, I remove the RFID tag and reuse it on new calves.

    Ronda. I just love the looks of the floor it reminds me of an old Farmhouse flooring 😊
    And I was wondering if Kevin ever gave thought to looking for a Portable Step ladder with a small platform on the top so that you can roll it to where you need it in the shop and be safer that a regular ladder I would hate to see any of your family get hurt falling off a ladder😊

    I have that same Pressure Canner. The directions that came with it said to wipe the gasket on the lid with light coating of oil to prevent gasket sticking when removing the lid after the time is up. Do you do that?

    • @acresofclayhomestead

    Try the Head flashlights. Straps on your forehead and around back, You can position light in a few angles. I use it to fix things on my truck at night, change a flat at night. Hands free, not expensive. Buy extra's to have on hand to help at night. Walking in areas on your farm that has no light shining, it will come in hand to see where you are walking and not trip on something. Safety is # 1 to protect your family. Table saw tip USE PUSH STICK OF SOME SORT, somebody I know lost his hand due to not using push stick or something. Split second too late. In Louisiana, due to the oil field, Marine paint is used a lot. More expensive, but holds up a little longer.

    • @acresofclayhomestead
      @acresofclayhomestead  15 годин тому

      I use a light like that at night. But the boys like the flashlight for shining in tight areas.
