The reason why SOAD released this song is more shocking and gives me more goosebumps than the fact it's their first song in 15 yearss
When they said they'll only return if they're needed they didn't lie that's for sure.

@@Nightknight1992 hi! you guys need to do your own research about what’s going on between these two countries. the war is happening in Azerbaijan. even if someone would want to bomb Armenia, they couldn’t, because Armenia signed a contract with Russia, that if someone invades their territory, Russia will defend Armenia. This could start a World war!
And Armenians are allowed to go back to their homes after the war ends, so there is no genocide happening. Azerbaijan is liberating their internationally recognized territory.
With the money that Armenian Fund raise, they are bombing cities of Azerbaijan out of conflict zone! This is the real issue. People are dying in Azerbaijan in the middle of the night, in their homes, while sleeping . But Armenians in Karabakh were informed and given time by Azerbaijan to leave for some time, for them to stay safe and come back after the war!
But, I urge you to do your own research you are interested in this, because it costs high when someone is picking sides, not knowing anything.

Artsakh has always been a part of historical Armenia, and Armenia is one of the oldest civilizations in the world. There are many churches, historical and cultural infrastructures in Artsakh, which were built in the 3-4th centuries. For the Armenian side, victory means to keep our lands.

After hearing this song I’ll honestly say that this is already has one of Daron Malakian’s best riffs, it’s so fucking good man... Great to have SOAD back after so long
I also never realized, since listening to both songs multiple times, have I wanted Daron and Serj to harmonize on vocals more than I do now.
The situation in Armenia right now is genuinely shit but it’s brought these guys back together for their heritage.

In very short, for those interested why they released a new song, it’s about the war in Armenia and Artsakh, in which Azeri backed turkish and isis militants (SIGNIFICANT EVIDENCE) are attacking the autonomous region of Artsakh. There is a VERY real threat of genocide against Armenians once again.

I felt the same way. It's a good change though, I love Daron's voice as much as I love Serj's so having more music from him is great. It also helps that the album is fucking amazing
Malakian sent his bandmates “Protect the Land,” a hard-charging anthem he had earmarked for the next album by his other group, Scars on Broadway, and the rest of System felt it spoke perfectly to how they felt.

You can hear the Black Sabbath influence all over this song. Those riffs sound like something Tony Iommi would write.

For people who aren't aware. The members of SOAD are Armenian, and there is a war going on in our country, that's why they made this song. Azerbaijan and Turkey have been attacking a part of our country called Artsakh for over a month now, nearly 1500 soldiers, women, and children have been killed and they blame Armenians for starting a ceasefire that they broke first and continued to break. Our country is small, our people are very strong but we as 3 million people can't take the 93 million people in Turkey and Azerbaijan. This is a great reaction of course, a very nice evaluation, thanks a lot, but SOAD released the songs and the video for getting a reaction to an extremely important issue through the song, not just the song itself😉 It’s not the time to stay neutral and not to utter a word about the war that SOAD is screaming about. All the scenes that gave you the “feels” are very very small portion of what’s happening now, and they were all real footages taken from the last 42 days. You could have a huge contribution to spreading their message by at least simply mentioning the real cause that brought SOAD back together and release this
