Kennedy's limo was a Lincoln Continental convertable. He had the option of having a "bubble top" placed on the vehicle before riding through the parade route that fateful day in Dallas in 1963.
We had a couple of the armored GSA Suburbans in Iraq on JBB, too. Heavyweight monsters with an 8.1 liter engine, and felt like driving a battleship. Had to scavenge them from the scrap yard and our Battalion Maintenance section had to get them functional again with some serious jury rigging (like retro-machining the hubs for Uparmored M1114 Rims) but they served as on-post transport well enough.
