My American Tele came with CS Texas Specials and a couple of people recommended installing a 4th switch so I took the plunge after watching your video and wow! I don't sound as great as you Rene but that growl is the quintessential sound of Texas Blues Rock I've been after. Thanks for the demo!
When single coils are in series, it is a humbucker. I have Texas specials in my Tele and I just put in a 4 way switch. All Teles should come this way. Thanks for the demo.
I love that sound. Really unusual and raw to my ears. Great playing too. I've also got a Texas Special type neck pup with a 4 way position but the bridge has SD Lil 59s with a push pull splitter to turn it back to a single coil. I find the Lil 59 is too muddy when compared to the full sound of the neck. Would you recommend a bridge humbucker that might work?
Hi David, thank you!! I tried a humbucker in Singlecoil size from Di Marzio, The Chopper, it fits good to Single Coils. It is not super High Gain Pickup but it fattens up the Bridge Position! I tried it in a Strat with Texas Special in Neck and Middle Position! There is a Tele Bridge Version available! In my Ears it fits well to the Texas Special! But that are only my Ears. All the Best and have fun trying new Pickups!
Great playing, Rene. Could you do another video of you playing some Led Zeppelin riffs with this guitar in series mode? Thinking of doing this mod to my tele after watching your video. Thank you!
Thank you Bill, I am planning to make more Videos!! That would be a nice Idea to make one with Riffs from Led Zeppelin, with the Tele. I´m looking forward to make this Video!! All the Best!!
To truely experience the Texas Special pickups with the 4 way switch, turn off all that destorsion. In my opinion the destortion really clutters the sound, most use it to hide mistakes.
Good tones man.

You are absolutley right!!
That's a nice looking Telecaster. Like the 4 way.
Sounds very nice....Texas Specials are NO joke! Great playing too, thanks man.
When trying to demonstrate the difference of any change, it should be done without any affects. And amp with the same settings through out.
Thank you for your respond....... but there are no effects. only two Sounds with different Gain settings. But i will keep that in Mind. Greetings
Do you have to mod the neck pickup on the Texas specials? I already have a 4 way but want to upgrade pickups
No mod on the pickup!! Cheers!
I have 3 way switch and the middle is bridge and Neck in series.

What amp/pedals are you using? That tone is nuts.
It is the Line6 Helix! The Lead Sound is a Revv Red Channel. The Cleaner Sound is the Mail order twin!

Wie würdest du die Texas Special im Vergleich zu den den Bare Knuckle Ture Grit bewerten?

Thanks, you just saved me money on buying that pick guard. I now know it won’t look good.
You are welcome!! Different People different Taste!
