After hearing you talk about Calcium Heart Scans, my 69 year old mom asked her primary doctor to order a heart scan for her. The doctor seemed somewhat hesitant but did order the test. My moms results came back a few days ago and her total score was a 5, which the doctors nurse said was low. Looks like the 5 all came from the descending artery (whatever that means). Her doctor is also going to follow up with a carotid artery scan, EKG & Echo. Some of the blood test that you recommend such as C-Reactive Protein is also being ordered. Not sure if she needs a stress test or not but her doctor didn’t mention ordering one. Do you consider the Calcium heart scan the gold standard test? Thanks for the help!

Best screening test. 5 is a great number at her age. No stress test indicated, not sure the other tests are either now.
