My greatest concern is how to recover from all these economic and global troubles and stay afloat especially with the political power tussle going on in US.
The FED knows. They aren't committed to attacking inflation. They are going to continue to inflate, stocks and commodities will continue to go up with everything else. You can't just sit on cash waiting for a crash, get your money working for you, start buying in slowly and then gradually increase the pace of buying as the prices continue to drop
In my opinion, now is not the moment to rely on hearsay. Every individual, regardless of their level of experience as an investor, requires guidance at some stage.
It's often true that people underestimate the importance of financial advisors until they feel the negative effects of emotional decision-making. I remember a few summers ago, after a tough divorce, when I needed a boost for my struggling business. I researched and found a licensed advisor who diligently helped grow my reserves despite inflation. Consequently, my reserves increased from $275k to around $750k.

I’ve been diligently working, saving and contributing towards early retirement and financial freedom, but since covid outbreak, the economy so far has caused my portfolio to underperform, do I keep contributing to my 401k or look at alternative sectors to meet my goals?

Inflation is managed robbery. Maybe we need less service industry and get innovative and flexible with work. You know who feels it most employers who don't want people to work from home. They are too concerned about how the employee delivers the product instead of bouncing the real slugs out of their company. Remember slugs can work anywhere up and down the ladder.

My neighbors have a daughter who has always lived with them. They sent her to college. She may have lasted 2 years, She has had numerous cars since she started driving. Then she worked at the mall. Finally she got a job with PD as a dispatcher.. First thing she did was buy a new SUV Then she got knocked up. So now she is living there with a new baby and the baby's father is there also. Yesterday I saw her driving a new Subaru. The father works and has a business. When his business was doing well he went out and bought every toy he hever wanted. He bought a fully dressed Harley motorcycle, a boat, Jet skis and he went to Sturgis every year. He made all that money from 1 client, then that client dropped him. He has 2 big trucks for that business and they just sit on the curb. He has 13 vehicles at the curb in my block. He once told me that he was going to have to work until he dies. I'M thinking he must have a lot of debt.

I have a friend who couldn't pay for a plumbing problem. $7000. Thats steep. But daddy paid ALLl of it for her. A couple months later she's driving a brand new car. Bad decision.
My daughter lost her job in November, after just buying a house in 2022. I'm retired & on a fixed income, but I helped her with auto repairs & mortgage payments, because I didn't want to see her lose her house & she needed the car to DoorDash while looking for work. Fastforward to now, she found another job in her field & she makes $47/hour, not including overtime & bonuses...do you think she'll pay me back my thousands? 😂

I have always been afraid of being broke. I so I've always tried to be prepared for hard times. I own one house outright that I rent out. I rent out a room in my current home. I work part time at one job and prn at another. I just started selling on eBay a month ago. Things are going well 😊

Respectfully Sir… you’re out of touch. It’s not people’s choice that HOUSING is ridiculously expensive. You may be a homeowner at a time when it was more of a reachable goal. You can’t judge. Just a example the worse area in my State…to rent a 1 bedroom in the Low income areas/the hood. Nothing less than $1900-2100. That is just for 1 bedroom. Two bedroom in the worst area are expensive. So imagine areas That are considered “Safe” …smh. It’s not easy even for those who are NOT in consumer debt. Not trying to keep up with the Jones. Just trying to keep a roof over their head.
