Great lecture, it's surprisingly hard to find real academic lectures on this topic on youtube compared to other topics, it's mostly useless ted talks and popular science aimed at teachers. In my family we regularly switch between three languages and I've always felt that the way multilinguals use languages isn't really understood by those who only speak one language habitually. It really isn't like having distinct, separate skills but more like a single speaking ability that draws from different sources.
