- Ethan Becker showed me his new design, the BK-18. This trailing edge knife cuts like Ricky Gervais' monologue. The sheath has been thought out with retention straps that pull themselves out of the way and can be flipped for left or right hand carry.

I've been using it on and off for about 2 months now. I gotta say it performs quite well. It replaced my bk16 which I've used on and off for 6 years.

I can't believe it but I think that's going to give my bk16 a back seat for most of what I use a knife for. Great compromise of everything I look for. I always wished the bk16 had a pointier profile for some things, and a little longer for more versatility. I can see myself carrying both, and a mora whittler, and a chopper. Damn Uncle Ethan.
I'm quite pleased with how this one feels in the hand. Can't wait to test one in the field!

Mr. Ethan Becker is a great supporter of the channel and a good friend.
What’s the price tag? Orange and reflective would be awesome. Anytime using a knife skinning I or someone places it down or drops it. Then it’s like where is the big knife?
Price and launch is later in 2020 spring I think. Reflective for the case you are talking about is a good all, I don't know if that is the books for them but.. maybe? If not you can always do a DIY and have a lanyard or your own touch of orange on the handle.
I bought the last BK5 on Amazon. It said Camp knife and I wanted a large camp kitchen knife and this is perfect. My other kabars are too rough finished for food processing and heavy. This is smooth finished, lightweight too bad ya'll missed it. Wanted the BK15 to go with but can't find it

Price info? Nope. Availability? Nope... Nice design? Yup. This is why salesmen exist. Some of these really talented folks need to get the right info out there so consumers can make decisions.
I hear you. Ethan is a designer, not a salesman. I prefer to hear the design aspects of the knife from the source, rather than repeated marketing pitches(which is usually the case).I'm sure you can find more info on their site once it releases next month.

Jesse Schmidt can’t be worse than the Gerber Ghost strike I had. I returned it because the ingenious retention clips in the sheath are 2 metal rods that click into 2 notches on the knife just above the blade. When you draw the knife the blade edge glides right onto the metal real nice and dulls the crap out of it with one swipe. It’s an amazing knife, but the sheath made it trash. Sad because I loved the knife.
This one doesn't seem to have any of the glass filling which would dull a knife or wear off a finish.
BK-18 Is the sweetest knife design I've seen from the new Ka-bars. Bullseye guys 🤘🏼

Hi. I bought 2 of these BK18. Both the same tan color but they are different in powder coat texture. One has USA engraved. The other doesn't. Why is that?

I'm wanting to try out the Ka-bar kephart to see if it's as nifty as the convex ground kephart knives.
@@innerbarkoutdoors Check out Real Steels new bushcrafter pro convex .... I had the full flat a couple years ago it was really nice but traded for an SK5 Ontario . The convex is really cool looking .
great knife but they gotta move to g-10 or micarta or something.
There’s several aftermarket grip manufacturers that can fill that role. I don’t want the price point to be too high on this knife

Riley Senn I designed a knife that is almost identical to this new Becker a few years ago. I’ve had the prototype for just about 1 year now.
Great knife... too much labeling on the blade. Nothing is better than all that writing.
The word "prototype" won't be on the production models 😉

I have many knives but there's no perfect 👌 knife,,It's up to you to determine that..An Example is,I like Moras Kniv for light to medium work,,and Bowie Raider SP-10 for hevy use or any full tang knife that I own..Remember One ☝️ task One ☝️ tool and you have to know how to use it...

I bought the BK5, great kitchen or camp butcher knife. I use it in my kitchen as my main big chopper.
People missed out on this great knife. The first time I saw it I knew I wanted to buy it right away and I ordered it because it was the last one in existence like Amazon. I looked all over to find a Ka-Bar 15 to go along with it but they're all gone so this knife looks like it could fit the bill

Tons of off market sheaths for really anything you buy now-a-days. Typically what I do anyways, so I can have a custom set up that fit's my need. The price you pay, for me, is for the knife so it's no big deal to me.

Is the sheath the same material the bk11 came with? because the glass filled nylon sheath from the bk11 definitely dulled the edge on my bk11 and virtuovice demonstrated it, that being said i like that knife a lot and it might just be my next becker knife!

I love my BK9 but the sheath is shit. Rattles like a snare drum. Concerned about this sheath. We dont have any whales in NC so I doubt I pick up one of these.
