Tbh i KINDA can understand some people that didn't enjoy this as much as i did, given how the "fight with words and convictions" works, but when i told you weeks ago this series was a lot more emotional than what i had expected, Togame vs Sakura and Umemiya vs Choji was the exact thing i was talking about. This show takes all the shounen tropes but THEY DO SOMETHING AMAZING with it. I'm not gonna pretend here, Togame's backstory got me more empathetic towards his character than Choji's one, but still Choji emotional breakdown there was kinda sad to watch. In the end, these guys are passing through puberty, and we all know emotions are all over the place at this phase. Umemiya should open his own therapy clinic LOL Also, i really appreciate he didn't want Shishitoren members to him....we agreed on this weeks ago, but neither of us like the idea of one group being absorbed by other. Each has their own members with their own characteristics, and that's cool. Also, Choji's whole sequence of him finding the treasure and having nothing there kinda remind of me one piece....so many people since the beginning are just curious and excited to see what it really is, but i'll tell you, Oda made sure to show the journey is what matters....i wouldn't be surprised if in the end, when Luffy finds it, he just laughs and let the treasure there LOL
I agree with everything you said. For me, it was hard to sympathize with choji as much as togame because choji did it to himself. However, I do understand he's a kid and that's the age you make all the mistakes. Choji's breakdown was sad but I'm glad he got it out of his system and he's better. Umemiya was exactly what he needed Umemiya needs to open his therapy boxing ring LMAO I hope we keep seeing shishitoren after this arc. Especially togame and choji. Btw, has the manga ended? Or is it still going on?? That's what I love about one piece. Oda makes it more about the journey. Even with luffy always refusing to even learn if the one piece exists or not. He just wants to enjoy the journey

Tbh i think there are three factors that made me like Togame's story more: 1) this is pure bias but i liked togame's design and VA since the moment he appeared, so i can say i was already conditioned to like him more 😂 i'd still like his character if he was a douchebag, but seeing he is actually good made everything easier to me LOL 2) Togame did what he did TO PROTECT SOMEONE ELSE (Choji). I can respect that. Choji, on the other hand, had no "excuse" if we can say that. 3) like reason 1, this can be considered nonsense, but i never really liked Luck (black clover) so much....i always prefered Magna 😂 so Choji looking EXACTLY like Luck was not a good factor too. Tbh, the only conclusion i can reach is: Togame should've been the leader LMAO i believe this with all my heart. Also, after Togame and Choji's backstories and how their development worked, i gotta say....Sako and Hiragi's backstory was the weakest of them. If we compare obviously. "You did well, Tomemiya Choji".
@pbgamer25 I liked togame from the start too and I'm so glad he ended up being a good guy. I think he 100% deserves to be a leader and as much as I want choji to step down and let togame be the leader, that won't happen sadly. I liked luck'a demeanour when it came to fights but as a character, I preferred magna too I agree that Hiragi and Sako's backstory eas the weakest. I think if they elaborate more on their relationship then I can see their backstory holding weight but so far, I'd say it was meh
